Moving from the Main Gate to the Midirium (Visitor Center)

The Seocheon National Ecological Institute is vast, so electric cars operate from the main gate to the Midirium (Visitor Center).

However, we recommend walking on the way there!

While walking to the Midirium, you can meet roe deer and water deer friends in the Deer Ecology Garden.

We recommend walking, as you can observe them more closely with binoculars at the observation deck.

If you walk a little past Geumguri Pond, you will find Hadaram Playground.

There is plenty of shade and a snack bar, so please keep this in mind when visiting with children. ☺️

A little further walk past the Wetland Experience Center,

you will find the Ecorium, Korea's first and largest climate-based ecological exhibition hall,

where you can experience all five of the world's major climates (tropical, desert, Mediterranean, temperate, polar) in one building!

Tropical Zone

In the Tropical Zone, the giant Amazonian fish, the pirarucu, swims leisurely,

and you can meet various friends such as rhinoceros iguanas, water dragons, and Aldabra giant tortoises.

Desert Zone

In the Desert Zone, huge cacti rise like needles,

and you can also see lizards moving carefully in the sandy background.

Mediterranean & Temperate Zone

Polar Zone

In the Polar Zone, you can see polar bears and arctic foxes living on the snowy fields of the Arctic,

and penguins living in the Antarctic village at the southern end.

Eco Lounge

After touring the five zones of the Ecorium,

you can enjoy experience facilities and relaxation at Eco Lounge 'Sum, Sheem'.

In addition, the Seocheon National Ecological Institute operates various exhibitions, ecological commentaries, and ecological education programs.

Through a variety of content, everyone from children to adults can enjoyably learn and experience the importance of ecology!

From the sweaty tropical jungle to the cool Antarctic winds,

the National Ecological Institute's Ecorium shows how diverse and amazing our planet is, filled with life.

It is a living textbook and a small Earth itself.

Why not enjoy a wonderful trip around the Earth with your family, friends, or lover at the Seocheon National Ecological Institute?
