Hello, this is Chilgok, a city of culture!

In this post, we'll be sharing a review of the 'Sparkling Gisan-myeon Story Picnic Exhibition & Sharing Event' held by the Gisan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team last October!

A special day where the history and stories of Gisan-myeon sparkled ✨

On October 24th (Friday) at 5 PM, the 'Sparkling Gisan-myeon Story Picnic Exhibition & Sharing Event' was successfully held at the Gisan-myeon Community Rest Area (across from the Gisan-myeon Office).

This exhibition and sharing event, organized by the Gisan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team,

was a meaningful occasion to share the history, figures, legends, and village stories of Gisan-myeon

with the local residents.

Inside the venue, a video of the promotion team's activities throughout the year was shown,

along with a photo exhibition of the beautiful villages and residents of Gisan-myeon.

Various photos representing 17 villages and 22 senior citizen centers were displayed,

and it was impressive to see many residents exclaiming, "Our village was this wonderful?" as they shared admiration and memories.

After the event, photo frames from each village were distributed to their respective villages,

allowing for continuous sharing of local records and memories.

Next to the exhibition booth, a promotional booth for the Gisan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team was operated,

distributing leaflets introducing the team's activities,

along with calligraphy experience and event programs for participating residents.

Souvenirs such as self-made tarpaulin bags, Jibbitz & magnets were given to residents who participated in the event.

(The Jibbitz and magnets were designed using resources within Gisan-myeon that were surveyed by the promotion team!)

It was great to see people of all ages participating joyfully.

Through this exhibition, the promotion team

introduced hidden stories throughout Gisan-myeon, such as the talking ginkgo tree in Gaksan-ri, the March 1st Independence Movement Memorial in Pyeongbok-ri,

the Nogori Taek in Gaksan-ri, the legend of the Palambawi Rock in Hansol Village, the pine forest and pavilion, and the Bonghwang (Phoenix) legend in Bongsan-ri.

These materials will be archived and compiled into a collection in the future,

becoming valuable cultural assets of Gisan-myeon.

💬 There was a reaction: "My heart warmed as the children enjoyed listening to old stories!"

This exhibition and sharing event was held in conjunction with the 'Gisan-myeon Residents Harmony Festival,'

creating an even more vibrant atmosphere.

The first part included local performances and a meal,

and the second part featured a concert that colored the autumn night,

becoming a time for all the residents of Gisan-myeon to unite and enjoy.

Please watch the video of the Gisan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team's project, produced by the promotion team~

The 'Sparkling Gisan-myeon Story Picnic Exhibition & Sharing Event'

was more than just an exhibition event,

it was the starting point of a culture that records local memories together and passes them on to the future.

The Gisan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team will continue

to promote the value and stories of Gisan-myeon far and wide.

We ask for your continued interest and support~!

Thank you^^
