Wawa Community House: A Special Space for Residents in Ulsan

Located in Samho-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, the Wawa Community House was created to enhance the quality of life for residents.
This facility, a key project of the Samho-dong urban regeneration initiative, began construction in May 2020 and was completed in June 2021, spanning three floors.
There is a small parking lot on the first floor, and nearby Wawa Park offers additional parking for residents, alleviating parking concerns.
The most notable feature of this space is that it was developed with active input from the community.
After a trial operation period, it was carefully prepared to include the facilities and programs that residents truly need, establishing itself as a multifunctional space that meets various community needs.
Facility Overview by Floor
1st Floor
The first floor houses a Together Care Center and a fitness room. The Together Care Center provides safe childcare for elementary school students from working families.
Operating hours are Monday through Friday, with flexible hours during the school year (10 AM - 7 PM) and vacation periods (9 AM - 7 PM). Residents can apply by visiting the Wawa Community House.
The fitness room supports residents' healthy lifestyles. It operates on weekdays, and users must bring indoor athletic shoes, a personal water bottle, and a towel. There is a quarterly usage fee of 60,000 KRW.
There is a stairway leading to the second floor. While an elevator is available, taking the stairs is encouraged for health reasons. It’s a quick climb when accompanied by friends.
2nd Floor
The second floor serves as a hub for health and welfare. The resident health management room checks individual health status and provides personalized exercise education.
Notably, there is a Dementia Care House that operates from 2 PM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. It is recommended to call ahead before visiting.
My favorite space in the Wawa Community House is the Migratory Bird Village Library, where anyone can come to read.
The library is open from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays and public holidays. Operating hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM.
By joining the Ulsan Nam-gu Library, you can also borrow books, and you can search for book locations.
With a wide variety of books for both children and adults, it’s a great place to visit with your kids.
The Wawa Community House plays a significant role in addressing local issues such as childcare, health management, and cultural activities.
It is a true community space where residents can thrive together, supporting one another for a healthy and stable life. Why not visit the library with your child this weekend?
