The cherry blossoms on the west coast of Chungnam bloom about a week later than elsewhere, making the second weekend of April the most beautiful time to visit.
I visited to see both daytime and nighttime cherry blossoms (Date of visit: April 11, 2026).
The cherry blossom trees are planted around the central reservoir. While you can't go down to the water, the branches extend towards it, allowing for beautiful photos right behind you.
It's a great spot for cherry blossom date photos.

I arrived around 5 PM and captured the beauty of the cherry blossoms during the day.
From above, the cherry blossom trees form a heart shape, making it a popular spot for drone photography.
The area around Goljeong Reservoir has a barrier-free walking path, but it can get busy on weekends.
In the center of the reservoir, there is a gazebo with a thatched roof, perfect for enjoying the cherry blossoms at night.

The cherry blossom trees around Goljeong Reservoir are quite large, creating a canopy over the walking path.
There are benches along the way for resting, but it's a small area that you can explore quickly.

When taking photos from the opposite side of the path, it felt like a curtain of cherry blossoms was descending from the sky.
I wonder why I only discovered this place now... One reason to enjoy cherry blossoms in Dangjin is that they bloom a week later than in other areas.
This means while other places lose their blossoms due to rain, Dangjin is still in full bloom.
You can enjoy cherry blossom outings for two consecutive weeks!

Capture life-changing photos of the cherry blossoms during the day, take a stroll, and then head to nearby restaurants or cafes.
Since I visited in the afternoon, I enjoyed the daytime blossoms, had dinner, and then viewed the nighttime cherry blossoms.
The reflection of the cherry trees on the water is incredibly beautiful.

The flower frames here are truly top-notch.
You don’t even need a tripod; just point your camera for stunning framed views.
This is the top spot for viewing cherry blossoms at night.
Comparing the views between day and night is even more enjoyable.
The walking path is a bit narrow, but it is well-constructed with decking.
The road next to the cherry trees is also accessible for vehicles from the nearby village.
When no cars are coming, you can stroll comfortably along the wide path.
It is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, but it’s better to walk along the village road on the narrower back deck.

The nighttime cherry blossom viewing at Goljeong Reservoir is truly enchanting.
Looking from the thatched roof gazebo in the center of the reservoir gives a dreamy feeling of the cherry blossom path.
The cherry trees are illuminated, attracting more visitors at night than during the day.
The blossoms change colors, showcasing shades of pink, orange, red, blue, and purple.

The view from the back village side is even prettier than from the front path.
The branches of the cherry trees extend beautifully, making it great for photography.
With lights on the trees, you can stroll comfortably even at night.
Keep in mind that it can get crowded on weekends.

This cherry blossom path makes people stop and gaze at the sky.
The trees are so large that they cover the sky.
There are gazebos along the way for resting.

The different colors of the blossoms make it impossible not to take photos.
It was a bit chilly at night, possibly due to the wind after the rain.
Make sure to bring a warm jacket or blanket.
There is a large parking lot right next to Goljeong Reservoir (free parking).
It’s spacious enough that even with many visitors, parking is moderately easy.
