Promoting Pride through New Appointments and Technical Competition Achievements in Anyang City Firefighters

[Reporter Go Do-hye]
Anyang City Fire Department held a ceremony on March 18 to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Volunteer Firefighters' Day.
On March 18, the ‘5th Volunteer Firefighters' Day’ ceremony was successfully held at Anyang Pyeongchon Marbellie.
Under the slogan, ‘A Year of Silent Dedication, Today, A Moment of Glory,’
the event honored the hard work of the volunteer firefighters dedicated to the safety of the community
and aimed to boost their pride.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the Anyang Fire Department,
key members of the community's safety, and newly appointed members,
creating a vibrant atmosphere of encouragement and unity.
This ceremony was a glorious moment to reward a year of dedication
and a reminder of the values of ‘safe opportunities’ pursued by Gyeonggi Province.
The existing volunteer firefighters, proud of their qualifications,
were the true stars of the ceremony.
The appointment ceremony for 23 new members, who will take on the responsibility for local safety,
was a significant moment that added meaning to the event.
New members, including the reporter, took to the stage to receive their appointment letters,
pledging to ensure the safety of Anyang.
Holding cameras to document the scene and carrying the pride of being volunteer firefighters,
the moment of receiving the appointment letters strengthened their commitment
to provide useful information to the residents as part of the Gyeonggi Opportunity Reporter Group.
The volunteer firefighters are a civilian organization formed by ordinary citizens,
who voluntarily gather to protect the safety of their communities.
They serve as a bridge to protect the lives of citizens,
going beyond merely assisting in firefighting.
Especially during the dry spring season,
the risk of forest fires is significantly high.
Therefore, the volunteer firefighters patrol hiking trails
and monitor illegal burning practices to protect Gyeonggi's forest resources.
The path to a safer Gyeonggi starts with small actions by citizens.
It is crucial to refrain from carrying flammable materials while hiking
and to avoid illegal burning of fields and waste.
Such preventive measures in daily life are of utmost importance.
The Volunteer Firefighters participate in the technical competition every year
to strengthen their capabilities as a professional organization.
They practice essential tasks like hose dragging and equipment relay,
which also fosters a sense of unity among members.
This ongoing training is a solid foundation for safeguarding the safety of 14.21 million residents in Gyeonggi Province.
This ceremony reaffirmed that the volunteer firefighters are an important channel for communication with the public.
The dedication of the volunteer firefighters, who have worked tirelessly
to reach this ‘moment of glory,’ ensures that 14.21 million residents can enjoy their daily lives with peace of mind.
As a newly appointed member and part of the Gyeonggi Opportunity Reporter Group,
I will continue to uncover hidden opportunities across the province
and do my best to create a safe Gyeonggi.
