Pet Memorial Services in Gyeonggi Province

As the pet population in South Korea surpasses 10 million, many people in Gyeonggi Province are likely sharing their lives with beloved pets like dogs and cats.
While having a pet brings immense joy that words cannot express, the inevitable moment of parting can be heart-wrenching to even imagine.
The first farewell to a cherished companion is a scheduled event that everyone will face.
However, when that moment arrives, many pet owners may find themselves overwhelmed with sadness and confusion.
To support these pet owners, Gyeonggi Province has opened the Pet Memorial Hall.
This facility aims to help pet owners warmly remember and commemorate their beloved pets when the time of farewell comes.
The Pet Memorial Hall, Gyeonggi Province's first public animal cremation facility, opened its doors in Yeoju on June 1.
Understanding that the first farewell can be particularly difficult, the memorial hall provides professional funeral directors who have undergone specialized training and gained field experience to support pet owners throughout the entire process.
Beyond merely assisting with funeral procedures, the staff aims to comfort grieving hearts and ensure that the last moments are cherished and peaceful.
The farewell space is adorned with wildflower decorations, creating a serene atmosphere for the last journey.
Additionally, services such as memory bags for keeping cherished memories are available.
Recognizing that the moment of parting can come unexpectedly, the facility offers a 24-hour reservation and consultation system to provide support whenever needed.
Equipped with three memorial rooms, a preparation room, a columbarium, and two cremation ovens, the facility is operated by Animal Companion Co., Ltd.
Residents of Gyeonggi Province are eligible for a 10% discount, while Yeoju citizens, veterans, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals can receive a 50% discount on cremation fees.
Help is available for those facing sudden farewells.
The Pet Memorial Hall also offers courses on pet loss syndrome.
These programs aim to help pet owners understand their feelings after losing a pet, ensuring that their sadness does not linger but instead transforms into warm memories.
If you are struggling after losing a pet, consider participating in the pet loss courses or seeking counseling.
The Pet Memorial Hall operates year-round, so when you need assistance, feel free to reach out.
