Honoring the Spirit of Service: Marianne and Margaret Awards
In order to honor the noble love and spirit of service of Marianne and Margaret, Goheung County is conducting two meaningful projects.
π 6th Marianne and Margaret Volunteer Award Candidate Nominations Open π
π Application Period: May 1 - June 30
π Announcement/Awards: A total of 3 recipients (2 in the volunteer category: 1 individual and 1 group; 1 in the nursing category) in November
* Nominations for the nursing category are accepted through official documents from the Korean Nurses Association.
π° Award Details: A total prize of 45 million KRW
- Presidential Citation (20 million KRW), Prime Minister's Citation (15 million KRW), Minister of the Interior and Safety's Citation (10 million KRW)

π 4th Marianne and Margaret Youth Hope Addition Contest π
π Application Period: May 1 - June 30
π₯ Participants:
[University Level] Current university students and organizations nationwide
[High School Level] Current high school students and youth of the same age nationwide
[Middle School Level] Current middle school students in Goheung County and youth of the same age residing in Goheung County
π Contest Content: Reflection on the designated video (including personal volunteer experiences)
π₯ Designated Video: "Nurses Marianne and Margaret of Sorokdo" (46 minutes)
- Scan the QR code on the promotional poster to view the video.
π Contest Theme: "The Value of Sharing and Service Through the Lives of Two Nurses"
π Announcement/Awards: In November / A total of 12 recipients (2 at the university level, 5 at the high school level, 5 at the middle school level)
- Award Ceremony: November 2026 / Goheung Cultural Center
- Award Details: Certificates and a total prize of 22.5 million KRW
(5 million KRW each for university level, 2 million KRW each for high school level, 500,000 KRW each for middle school level)
