Exploring the Ulsan Bridge Observatory

Today, I would like to introduce the Ulsan Bridge Observatory, a recommended travel destination in Ulsan.
This spot offers a panoramic view of Dong-gu, Ulsan, allowing visitors to take in the stunning 360-degree scenery.
They even sell Han River ramen here!
It's not just about the view; there's also a VR experience that would be fun for kids.
Located at the summit of Hwajeong Mountain, the Ulsan Bridge Observatory stands 63 meters tall and is a must-visit tourist attraction situated between the 08-09 course of the Haepalang Trail.
On the day I visited, the weather was beautifully clear, which heightened my anticipation for the view from the observatory.
Right in front of the observatory, a spacious parking lot is available.
The observatory operates from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the staff provide detailed explanations upon entering.
Admission is free, and the observatory is closed on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, making weekends a great time to visit.
This four-story facility also features a gift shop and VR experiences!
While indoor photography is allowed, outdoor photography is restricted to people only, as taking pictures of external facilities or landscapes is prohibited for security reasons.
The first floor has a separate entrance for the snack shop and café, so please keep that in mind!
The VR experience includes six different themes, available during all hours except lunchtime.
You can enjoy various VR experiences related to Ulsan's iconic whale and an exploration of the Ulsan Bridge, which were surprisingly fun.
Each person can experience it once a day, so even on busy weekends, you can still enjoy the VR activities!
The VR setups were beautifully decorated in various shapes, and the experience felt quite realistic, creating an illusion of being surrounded by beautiful nature, which kids would surely love.
There’s also a 4D experience, and the indoor space was neat and well-organized.
While observatories can sometimes bore children, this facility provides enough entertainment for the whole family.
On the third floor, I had a meaningful time at the indoor observatory.
The beautiful scenery of Ulsan unfolded before my eyes, and there was a small space for taking photos.
The distant ocean view and the blue sky were simply stunning!
The biggest advantage of this place is that you can see outside from all directions, allowing you to view the port, sea, and Ulsan Bridge all at once.
It felt refreshing to have such an unobstructed view.
Of course, there were telescopes available, and benches were set up for visitors to sit and relax.
There were also various displays showcasing the history of Dong-gu, Ulsan.
The gift shop on the first floor had some interesting items on display.
The fourth floor featured an outdoor observatory, which was quite hot, and photography was prohibited, so I just enjoyed the view.
As soon as I descended, I saw photos of the twelve scenic spots of Ulsan, and while it was quite windy, the heat was manageable.
Viewing from a higher perspective on the fourth floor felt different, allowing me to appreciate the unique charm of the Ulsan Bridge Observatory.
On the first floor, there was also a snack shop and café.
You can enjoy Han River ramen here, which would be delicious when feeling peckish outdoors.
I noticed some hikers enjoying it, but since I had already eaten, I opted for the café, which I recommend trying if you visit.
The café had a modern yet classic vibe, and the drinks were good. There were no crowds when I visited, allowing for a relaxing time.
Soft music played in the background, enhancing the leisurely atmosphere.
After exploring the Ulsan Bridge Observatory, taking a break here would be delightful.

It's a place where you can see both the Ulsan Bridge and the port at a glance, and the variety of VR experiences make it a great destination for families with children.
