Hello! How are you enjoying the hot summer?

With the heat intensifying, many people are seeking out valleys to cool off, and today I want to introduce you to a great spot for water activities in Changnyeong: Okcheon Valley.

Okcheon Valley is perfect for families looking to enjoy a day of water fun. If you search for Okcheon Valley, you will find directions to the area.

As you approach, you will see the Gu-ryong Bridge. Below this bridge, there is a designated swimming area that is ideal for adults.

Although it hasn't rained recently, the water depth is significant here. For safety, please wear a life jacket while enjoying the water.

Further up the valley, there is a parking area available for visitors. Safety personnel are stationed at Okcheon Valley, and a new addition is the life jacket storage, where you can borrow life jackets for free while the safety personnel are present.

On the opposite side of the valley, there is space to spread out mats. The most popular spot is the wooden deck area, which is often claimed quickly by early visitors.

While you can also spread mats on the ground to enjoy the water, it's advisable to use mosquito repellent due to the presence of mosquitoes. Cooking is prohibited, but you can bring packaged food to enjoy while swimming, just remember to take your trash with you when you leave.

One downside is that the water levels have decreased significantly due to the lack of rain recently. If you are planning a visit, I recommend waiting about 3 to 5 days after it rains for better water conditions.

If you go a little further, there is another swimming area where the water reaches up to your thighs. This area may become deeper after rainfall.

Restrooms are located on both sides of the Sangseong Bridge just above the valley. Please note that swimming is prohibited in the upstream areas of Okcheon Valley for safety reasons.

In summary, Okcheon Valley is a great spot for families to enjoy a day out with packed lunches and water activities. Why not plan a visit?
