Exploring the Multiverse in the Heart of Jeonju
As the summer heat intensifies, finding a refreshing indoor activity has become essential. I discovered a fantastic place that’s perfect for both kids and a romantic date—Wansan Bunker: The Space in downtown Jeonju.
This unique venue, which recently opened, has quickly become a hot spot in the city. Initially, I imagined a dark and heavy bunker space, but stepping inside revealed a completely new world.

Upon entering, the atmosphere felt mystical, reminiscent of a sci-fi movie with vibrant holograms and neon lights. Wansan Bunker: The Space is an experiential venue showcasing a multiverse through media art, with engaging storylines that captivate visitors, making it a delightful experience for children.
The first half features four stunning exhibitions—Secret Story, Map of the Universe, Portal of Dimensions, and Cracks in the Void—that left me in awe. The immersive visuals and grand sounds truly made it feel like an adventure in a spaceship.
Particularly impressive were the third and fourth rooms, 'Portal of Dimensions' and 'Cracks in the Void.' The 'Portal' room, surrounded by hexagonal mirrors, creates an illusion of floating in space, enchanting both children and adults alike. The visuals of the universe from the 'Cracks' room were equally mesmerizing, especially the contrast between the red and blue planets.
The second half of the experience was filled with interactive exhibits perfect for kids. One standout was the 'River of Time,' where visitors could create constellations on the wall based on their movements and make wishes, feeling as if they were truly sending a wish to the stars.
Other engaging activities included piloting a spaceship in 'Space Ark,' drawing in 'Multiverse,' and interacting with aliens in 'Alien,' where movements were mirrored by alien characters, adding to the fun.
As we wrapped up our cosmic adventure, we stumbled upon a small unmanned café offering simple drinks like Americano and lemonade, adding a charming touch to our return to Earth. Additionally, a well-curated merchandise shop caught my eye, designed more like a trendy boutique than a typical souvenir shop, making browsing an enjoyable extension of the exhibition.
Wansan Bunker: The Space offers a captivating atmosphere, stunning visuals, and grand sounds, making it a memorable experience. I highly recommend visiting this urban escape for a magical day with family or loved ones.
