The Haman Complex Literature Museum, which opened on October 23, 2025, is now celebrating its first anniversary.
This museum showcases Haman's literature and history, as well as Chinese character culture, traditional education, exhibitions, and various programs, making it a cultural space where everyone can engage with culture up close.
Outside the museum, there is a garden-like resting area designed for visitors.
Currently, the museum is hosting a digital poetry contest until November 13 this year.
If you have a bit of interest in photography, why not express the beauty and emotions of everyday life through digital poetry, combining photos with short phrases?
Here's a quick explanation of digital poetry in three steps:
1️⃣ Capture! (Take a poetic moment from daily life with your smartphone)
2️⃣ Write! (Express your feelings in a short text)
3️⃣ Connect! (Combine the photo and text to create a poem!)
During my visit, the first-floor exhibition hall featured the literary world of the eternal flower, Simsan Moon Deok-soo. At the moment, the 'Heartfelt Poetry Exhibition' is on display.
After one exhibition ends, another is always prepared, allowing visitors to experience something new with each visit.
The 'Heartfelt Poetry Exhibition' will be available until December 13, so I recommend visiting if you're curious.
The museum is also hosting a special digital poetry exhibition by artist Hwang Si-eon.
This exhibition showcases 16 pieces of digital poetry that combine landscapes captured in Haman with short poems written by the artist.
The museum is a comfortable space to sit and read books, allowing you to engage with literature more closely.
On the first floor, you can explore the history of Haman's literature, including classical and oral literature, as well as the history of Haman literature over the past 100 years.
Additionally, there are digital screens displaying various literary materials and works.
On the second floor, you will find the Heungmun Room, which features tables for studying or meetings at the entrance.
On one side, there are areas to create and use bookmarks, which could be a fun activity.
Inside the Heungmun Room, you can follow the usage guidelines, and tables are provided for reading.
All books in the resource room must remain on-site, so enjoy them in the library.
The Heungmun Room, meaning 'A Room that Inspires Culture,' houses various humanities books, including classics.
Inside, you will find neatly arranged bookshelves organized by genre, including encyclopedias, bibliographic studies, essays, and speeches.
In addition to the Heungmun Room, there are various attractions such as the Scholar's Library and the Heungon Room.
The Scholar's Library features collections from two prominent scholars of the Joseon Dynasty, Toegye Lee Hwang and Nammyung Jo Sik, whose teachings have influenced many students.
The Heungon Room, meaning 'A Room to Admire Preserved Culture,' displays works and collections donated by Mr. Heo Gwon-soo.
On the third floor, there is a photo zone featuring the Ten Longevities and an art stamp area.
You can create a postcard by stamping various stamps on it.
Additionally, there is an experience area where you can try on traditional student robes, creating special memories.
Finally, the unmanned café on the first floor is a great place to relax with a drink after visiting the museum, allowing you to enjoy a moment of pleasure with literature.
