As autumn 2026 approaches, I would like to introduce a wonderful place for a fall stroll in Changnyeong.
Located not far from Namji Sports Park, Namji Eulalia Observatory offers stunning views of the silver grasses swaying in the autumn breeze along the Nakdong River, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.
The observatory is a must-visit autumn destination in Changnyeong, where you can feel the essence of the deepening fall.
There are two restrooms and a cultural interpreter's building at the observatory.
Searching for Namji Eulalia Observatory will lead you to a spacious parking lot, making it easy to park. After parking, you can comfortably walk to the observatory.
A short walk from the parking area brings you to the observatory, where the path is lined with pink muhly grass, enhancing the autumn atmosphere.
In addition to the pink muhly, you can also see the red foliage of the daepsari plants. From the observatory, the combination of pink muhly and red daepsari creates a vibrant autumn landscape.
The pink muhly is gradually turning a deeper shade of red, shimmering in the autumn sunlight, and swaying gently in the breeze, creating a beautiful sight.
The observatory features a wooden walkway with two observation decks on either side, both of which are accessible.
Each deck has a two-story structure, allowing you to enjoy a 360-degree view of the surroundings.
The view from the observatory is truly breathtaking, with the Nakdong River glistening in the sunlight and the natural scenery along the riverbank providing a perfect autumn backdrop.
One of the observation decks also has a space on the second floor where you can enjoy the view below, making it a great spot for photos with the surrounding nature and the Nakdong River.
In front of the observatory, you will find a telescope for viewing the riverbanks, which I highly recommend using during your visit.
Additionally, there is a field of silver grass, though it may not be fully grown yet, which was a bit disappointing. However, I was still able to see some of the grass reflecting the autumn light.
Namji Eulalia Observatory also has a bike path connecting it to Namji Sports Park, making it a great destination for cycling enthusiasts.
Visiting this place for a ride would be an enjoyable experience.
