Are you looking for a quiet and beautiful place to enjoy this autumn? Today, I would like to introduce you to the Cultural Park in Changnyeong, Gyeongnam. The view from the pavilion is lovely, and the path extends to the ancient tombs of Gyodong and Songhyeon-dong, making it a perfect spot for a historical exploration.

Changnyeong Cultural Park is located in the Gyori area of Changnyeong-eup. At the entrance, there is a large stone marker. It is known as a great place for a leisurely stroll, but there are also many interesting sights to see.

The park entrance features a map and parking space. By checking the map, you can locate the walking paths and main facilities. I decided to head to the pavilion on the hill first.

To reach the pavilion, you need to pass through a long staircase known as the 108 steps. As I got closer, it felt longer than I expected, but I took my time to climb.

There are signposts throughout the park, making it easy to find your way. Besides the stairs, there are several walking paths to choose from, so feel free to explore.

You can also encounter a poetry monument by poet Nam-hyun Ha-hyeon-sik. The poem titled "Song of That Summer" evokes childhood memories, so take a moment to read it before moving on.

The paths are well-maintained and the slopes are relatively gentle. Honestly, the stairs were a bit challenging, but the rest of the park is suitable for walking with children.

The park features various sculptures, adding to the enjoyment of your visit. I noticed some cute rabbit sculptures. Do you know the children's song "Mountain Rabbit"? It was composed by teacher Lee Il-lae while working in Changnyeong. I believe these rabbit sculptures might be related to that song.

The scenery is truly beautiful, resembling a scene from a movie. I finally spotted the pavilion peeking through the trees and grass.

As I approached the pavilion, more rabbit sculptures greeted me. Many visitors might have sung "Mountain Rabbit" while attending school in their childhood. Walking here might revive those memories.

The view from the pavilion is fantastic. Below, you can see the park's grassy fields and trees, and in the distance, the mountain ridges of Changnyeong come into view. I felt grateful for climbing up and realized I had ascended quite a height.

There are several information boards around the pavilion, introducing local attractions such as the ancient tombs of Gyodong and Songhyeon-dong, as well as Bugok Hot Springs. It’s a good idea to check the guide map to find your next travel destination.

The park's walking paths naturally lead to the ancient tombs. The unique aspect of Changnyeong Cultural Park is that you can enjoy an autumn walk and explore the region's ancient history simultaneously.

Even if you don't enter the tombs, you can see traces of ancient graves around. At first glance, they may appear as ordinary grassy hills, but upon closer inspection, you'll notice multiple tomb shapes, revealing their distinct nature.

Changnyeong was once the site of the ancient kingdom of Biwha-gaya. The ancient tombs of Gyodong and Songhyeon-dong are the burial sites of the ruling class of Biwha-gaya, which was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2023. You can learn about Changnyeong's history while enjoying a leisurely stroll.

Before heading up to the park, I could see the village beyond where I started. Changnyeong Cultural Park offers the opportunity to explore both the beauty of autumn and the history of the ancient tombs. It’s a perfect season for a walk, so I encourage you to visit.
