A new travel destination has opened in Yeongcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
Let's Run Park Yeongcheon, which opened in September 2026,
is the fourth horse racing park established in Korea, following Seoul, Jeju, Busan, and Gyeongnam.
It's not just a place to watch horse racing; it's a comprehensive leisure facility where you can experience horse culture up close, enjoy a wide racetrack, and relax in various spaces.
Best of all, the admission fee is only 2,000 won, making it easy to visit without any burden.
I will share information about Let's Run Park Yeongcheon and my experience watching the races.
Location: 1, Gyeongma-gongwon-ro, Geumho-eup, Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Operating Hours: Friday to Sunday, 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM
Closed: Monday to Thursday
Admission Fee: 2,000 won for adults, free for minors
Restrictions: No outside food or beverages allowed
Parking is spacious, with options to park under solar panel roofs. There are also charging stations for electric vehicles, making it convenient for visitors.
Upon entering, the first thing that catches the eye is the large observation building.
This four-story building has various viewing areas on each floor.
The first floor includes information facilities and a betting area, while the second and third floors feature comfortable indoor seating for enjoying the races.
The fourth floor is used for horse racing operations. It stands out as a new landmark in Yeongcheon.
Inside, there are information desks and betting windows, along with automatic vending machines.
First-time visitors can check the racing schedule and viewing methods through the information provided.
Betting can be done after checking the participating horses and race information. The win bet predicts the first-place horse, while the place bet identifies the top two horses regardless of order.
Only those aged 19 and above can purchase bets, with a maximum limit of 100,000 won per transaction.
Of course, you can watch the races without placing a bet, making it a good option to experience the viewing first if you're new to it.
The indoor viewing area is surprisingly pleasant, with a spacious racetrack visible through large glass windows and tables and chairs available for comfortable seating.
Large monitors display live race footage and participating information. On cold or hot days, utilizing the indoor seating is a great option.
From September 13 to December 6, 2026, six races will be held every Sunday at Let's Run Park Yeongcheon.
Outdoor seating allows you to view the racetrack directly and enjoy races from other horse racing venues on a large screen.
Real-time broadcasts make it easy to follow the movements of horses far away.
Checking the race times before your visit ensures you won't miss the actual horses running.
This was my first time watching a horse race, and it was much more enjoyable than I expected!
When the race started and the horses came racing at high speed, my attention was naturally drawn to them.
Seeing multiple horses fiercely competing for the finish line was particularly impressive.
Watching the horses run in person is definitely different from viewing it on screen.
Simply watching the races, regardless of betting, was a new and exciting experience.
Let's Run Park Yeongcheon is an interesting place not only for horse racing enthusiasts but also for travelers seeking new experiences.
You can see horses and jockeys up close, and it provides comfortable viewing areas and various relaxation spaces.
The 2,000 won admission fee offers a unique attraction, which is a significant advantage!
If they expand horse culture experiences and leisure content for family visitors, it may become a representative outing destination for Yeongcheon.
