Hello everyone,

This is Byun Ji-hee from the Gyeongnam Social Media Friends reporting team!

Today, I would like to introduce you to a special place called 'Changwon's House,' located in Sarim-dong, Changwon.

If you live in Changwon, you might already be familiar with it!

Changwon's House holds many memories from my school days, as I often visited it during outdoor activities since my high school was nearby.

It's a cultural heritage site, making it even more special!

The house has a spacious parking lot, so you don't have to worry about parking.

Here are some important details before your visit:

Operating Hours: 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM (Last admission at 05:30 PM)

Closed on Mondays (unless Monday is a public holiday, in which case it will be closed the following day)

Admission Fee: Free

As you enter, you'll find a map and guide at the entrance, which I recommend checking out before going in!

Changwon's House is a cultural heritage site located in the Uichang District of Changwon City, Gyeongsangnam-do. It is a traditional Korean house that dates back over 200 years, originally inhabited by the esteemed scholar, Choi Eun-du, from the Joseon Dynasty.

To preserve our traditional hanok and customs, which are disappearing amid rapid urbanization and industrialization, the city of Changwon acquired and renovated this house, making it a meaningful cultural space open to the public for free since 1985.

The site spans about 10,000 square meters, and walking through it feels like stepping into a time machine.

During my recent visit, there was a unique event happening!

They had a detailed map available, and while I explored freely, those who want to take a closer look might find it helpful.

There was also a story about Changwon's House displayed before entering, which I recommend reading.

It was the 2026 Changwon Sculpture Biennale viewing event, so make sure to check the closure dates before your visit.

As mentioned, the viewing hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM, with the last entry at 5:30 PM, so don’t forget!

There are cards available that provide deeper insights for those interested.

They also offer guided tours at 11 AM and 2 PM.

I first went left, where there were resting areas, a vending machine, and a water fountain.

What caught my eye was the agricultural tool exhibition hall, showcasing old farming implements. It was fascinating to see such historical artifacts!

Inside, there was a well and traditional hanoks that exuded a serene atmosphere.

On the other side, I found a tranquil hanok area that included a folk education center and a multipurpose hall.

There were also cute photo zones for capturing memories!

Outside, there's the Changwon Historical Folk Museum, which I plan to visit next time.

Today, I shared my experience at Changwon's House, a cultural relic of our nation that evokes a sense of grandeur amidst our busy modern lives.

I look forward to bringing you more interesting stories soon!
