As the cool autumn days continue, Ulsan is hosting a variety of cultural events.

With so many places to visit in October, where do you plan to enjoy the fall?

Beautiful Sudo, harmonizing with the sea, is undoubtedly a great travel destination this season.

Most notably, the outdoor book fair held every Saturday and Sunday offers a unique way to enjoy autumn!

This year, the outdoor book fair is themed 'Ulsan, Falling into Sudo' and is taking place in the Sudo area.

Additionally, the diverse exhibitions at Sudo Art make it a wonderful place for visitors to enjoy.

If you visit Sudo on the weekend, be sure to check out the Ulsan Outdoor Library 'Picnic' event, running until October 18, along with Sudo Art.

The event takes place from 2 PM to 8 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, so plan your visit accordingly!

Currently, Sudo Art is hosting an exhibition by artist Choi Hye-won titled 'Eheya: Doo and, Doo and, Give it to Me', which started on September 5 and will run until November 1, making it an excellent opportunity to experience this fall.

Upon entering Sudo Art, you can find information about travel in Ulsan Dong-gu and various events, which can be helpful for travelers.

The 'Eheya: Doo and, Doo and, Give it to Me' exhibition is located on the second floor.

Staff members are available to kindly guide you throughout the exhibition. Uniquely, this exhibition allows visitors to touch the artworks displayed on the walls.

Typically, there are guidelines to protect artworks, prohibiting physical contact, but this exhibition encourages interaction, making it suitable for families with children.

Additional information about the exhibition and related programs can be accessed via QR codes.

The works on the walls, made of clay, can be touched to experience their texture. They depict everyday objects like seashells and twigs collected from Sudo and Bangojin Port, capturing the essence of present-day Bangojin.

This exhibition began by confronting the layers of records and memories accumulated in Sudo and Bangojin Port.

The artist felt that the sounds of anchovy fishing were not fixed but rather a shared 'breath' exchanged in the labor scene.

Like the sea creatures that cannot shine alone, the landscape of Bangojin endures the passage of time, layered with different eras and lives.

The ground-level artworks are to be appreciated visually only.

Choi Hye-won primarily works with clay and fabric to create sculptures, focusing on themes of diversity and coexistence.

Her exhibitions explore various topics, including relational aspects, worship, childhood dreams and memories, life and death, comedy, encounters, and empathy.

Recently, she has been engaged in community involvement and exploration activities through projects like 'Swamp Restoration'.

This exhibition reflects on the present and past of Bangojin Port, suggesting the possibility of coexistence through the intersection of diverse lives and memories.

In the inner exhibition space, you will encounter the sounds of fishermen pulling nets and singing together, representing a collective song of different individuals.

You can sit or lie comfortably on a round carpet to experience the artworks through sound and sight, including listening to the traditional labor song 'Bangojin Sookbatt Hurisori' via MP3.

Opening a book allows you to view historical materials, enhancing your immersion in the experience.

This time to reflect on the past of Bangojin, alongside the anchovy fishing sounds, bridges the past and present.

'Togetherness does not mean becoming the same. It is a state of being exposed and responsive to each other's uniqueness.'

Through this exhibition, I felt the connection between our diverging lives and memories.

There are also experiential programs for children running until November 16, offered for free twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, so interested individuals should inquire accordingly.

The view of the Sudo lighthouse from Sudo Art is also stunning, and I hope you get to enjoy the true beauty of Ulsan's Sudo sea from the rooftop.
