In September, when the cool breeze started to be felt in the morning and evening,
I wanted to spend some leisurely time,
so I went camping! ๐ฒ๐๏ธ
The place I found was the Sangju Munjangdae Auto Camping Site.
On September 5th, with pleasant weather that was neither too cold nor too hot,
I was able to relax comfortably while enjoying the open view of Sokrisan.
Camping Site Information
Location: Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Opened: July 2015
Auto Camping: 28 sites
Check-in: 14:00, Check-out: 12:00
Facilities: Management office, restrooms, shower rooms, drinking water station
Upon arriving at Sangju Munjangdae Auto Camping Site,
the first thing that caught my eye was the refreshing mountain scenery.
The camping area was terraced, and our deck site E5 had an open view,
allowing us to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Sokrisan.
There were also shaded areas around the site,
which helped block out the sun nicely.
The site was well-maintained and clean, making it easy to set up our tent. โจ
Each site was equipped with electrical facilities and fire extinguishers,
and there were fire pits and stands available as well.
What I liked most was that we could park our vehicle right in front of our site.
When camping, we often have more gear than expected,
so having the car nearby made unloading and organizing much easier!
The restrooms and showers were relatively clean, considering the camping site was in the mountains.
The management office had a microwave, and next to site E,
there were clean water facilities and trash bins for food waste,
making it convenient to wash up after preparing meals.
Besides the auto camping sites, there were caravans available,
and there was a walking path nearby,
allowing us to explore the surroundings at a leisurely pace.
After setting up our tent and hammock, we enjoyed a camping feast!
We arrived at 2 PM to check in and slowly set up our tent.
There was enough space beside the tent to hang the hammock.
As I looked at the beautiful scenery,
I felt like I was already relaxing.
For a late lunch, we prepared beef tripe stew and smoked barbecue.
Eating warm food while gazing at the open mountains
made me feel like I was escaping the daily grind.
We played badminton around the site with our child,
and while exploring, we even found a praying mantis,
which brought back childhood memories.
What I enjoyed most was sitting quietly at a site
with a view of Sokrisan.
As I looked at the mountains and the sky,
I felt my thoughts slowly fading away.
As the sun began to set, the atmosphere of the camping site changed.
The blue mountains and sky during the day
started to turn red at dusk.
Watching the sky and mountain ridges turn red,
I couldnโt help but take out my camera again!
In the evening, we roasted sweet potatoes,
prepared grilled hearts, beef tripe, and large intestines.
The time spent waiting for the food to sizzle over the charcoal fire
was also a joy of camping.
After the sun completely set, we enjoyed the warmth of a campfire.
Looking at the flames, when I looked up,
I saw the darkened sky, and the space that had been filled with green mountains during the day
transformed into a completely different atmosphere at night.
Time spent at Sangju Munjangdae Auto Camping Site
was fulfilling without needing to do anything special.
Eating delicious food, playing with my child, watching the sunset,
and gazing at the campfire made me feel like
the day was completely packed.
The next morning, a light rain fell,
and on the way home, we stopped by Sangju Sol Forest.
After the rain, the forest looked even more moist and fresh than the day before.
As we headed home after camping,
we briefly visited the famous Sol Forest.
Under the towering pine trees, purple flowers bloomed.
The scenery created by the tall and majestic pine trees was truly stunning.
Strolling through the forest, we leisurely wrapped up the last moments of our trip.
From the view of Sokrisan at the camping site
to the Sol Forest we encountered on the way back,
it was a time to relax slowly while enjoying nature.
Although it was early September and the autumn leaves had not yet turned,
I look forward to seeing the colorful scenery around Munjangdae as the season deepens.
This camping trip, where I wanted to take a break in nature,
with the mountains, sky, and slowly passing time at Sangju Munjangdae Auto Camping Site
will remain in my memory for a long time.
