A Relaxing Day at Guri Topyeong Family Camping Site

I enjoyed a barbecue without any camping gear at the Guri Topyeong Family Camping Site.
Initially, I visited for a light outing nearby, but I was honestly surprised by how well-equipped the facilities were.
Although not large, the site features a pond and lotus flowers that create a lovely atmosphere.
You can reserve just the barbecue area, spread a mat in the picnic zone, or take a stroll along the walking paths.
If you're considering a weekend outing, I recommend saving this place for a visit.
Setting your navigation to Guri Tower makes it easy to find, with a tennis court right next to the camping site.
Just head straight, and you'll come across the management office where you can check in after showing your ID.
Parking is conveniently located next to the sites, but note that caravans and pets are not allowed.
Reservations can only be made online through Interpark. Remember that from the 1st to the 10th of each month, only Guri residents can book for the following month, while anyone can book starting from the 11th.
Guri residents need to verify their residence with ID or a resident registration certificate, while those from other areas should book quickly on the 11th as weekend slots fill up fast. The advantage for Guri residents is being able to book a month in advance.
The camping site consists of four areas (A, B, C, D) with a total of 29 sites, featuring both wooden decks and crushed stone.
Areas A1 to A3 operate as glamping zones, offering a package that includes a shelter tent, tarp, table, relax chairs, camping mat, fire pit, and waterproof sheet, making it accessible for first-time campers.
While the spacing between sites isn't very wide for privacy, they are sufficiently spacious for family use.
I used the barbecue area this time, and with the easy barbecue package, you can enjoy a barbecue without a tent.
The fee is 37,000 won for a day trip, and pre-booking through Interpark is recommended.
The grill setup and facilities were well-maintained, perfect for a family gathering.
If you're hesitant to carry camping gear, this is a practical option.
While preparing the barbecue, the kids headed straight to the playground.
They rushed over as soon as they saw it.
It seemed like they spent more time at the playground than following their parents around during the camping trip.
The open layout allowed me to easily see their movements from my seat.
The shared item area was the most impressive part of the camping site, offering free rentals of items like butane gas and toys.
The variety was more than I expected, so even if you arrive empty-handed, the kids won't be bored.
The system allows for easy borrowing and returning without any formal application, which is convenient.
If I had known about this, I would have packed much lighter.
After finishing the barbecue, I went to the pond, which was even prettier in person than in photos.
The pond is centrally located, making it visible from anywhere.
Lotus flowers start blooming in June, peaking in July and August, making it the perfect time for photos.
The aquatic plants change with the seasons, so each visit offers a different atmosphere.
Even if camping isn't your goal, the scenery alone is worth visiting.
The walking paths along the pond are perfect for a light stroll after meals.
The paths are short and well-maintained, making it easy to walk with young children.
The camping site, located where the Wangseok Stream meets the Han River, has a pleasant waterside feel.
The nearby resting area by the pond is breezy and surprisingly cool in summer, where kids can naturally come to rest after playing.
Restrooms and showers are available in each area, with flushing toilets and hot showers.
Managed directly by Guri City Corporation, the facilities are quite clean for a public camping site.
The recycling station is conveniently located, making waste disposal easy, and the atmosphere was orderly among visitors.
Each site is equipped with electrical facilities and wireless internet, and microwaves are also available.
However, the use of combustion devices in enclosed spaces like tents is prohibited, so please adhere to this rule.
I was able to enjoy a barbecue and take a stroll by the pond without going far, making it a surprisingly fulfilling day.
It felt like a good value for money.
Thanks to the shared item area, I could pack lightly, and with picnic fees at 10,000 won and barbecue at 37,000 won, it’s a reasonable price to enjoy this scenery in the metropolitan area.
If you're planning a light weekend outing without camping gear, consider saving this place for reservation season.
