Today, I want to introduce a great restaurant located in Seongsu, Seoul: Woongkal Seongsu!
I visited on a weekday lunch right after it opened on December 29, and I highly recommend it if you're looking to enjoy delicious kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) along with grilled chicken!
What I loved ٩(๑´0`๑)۶
The grilled chicken, particularly the large drumsticks, was incredibly tasty and paired perfectly with the kalguksu.
It's conveniently located in front of Olive Young near Seongsu Station.
They serve unique and delicious dumplings with a delightful buckwheat aroma!
Menu Highlights (ง •̀_•́)ง
Here's an image of the menu!
I had the Woongkal and the Buckwheat Health Dumplings :)
Woongkal
Review: Kalguksu enjoyed with a giant grilled chicken!
The soup was warm and refreshing, and it complemented the savory grilled chicken perfectly.
The noodles had a nice chewy texture rather than being overly soft, which I really appreciated!
I particularly loved the grilled chicken! The skin, soaked in the broth, became chewy and delicious, making me want to order another serving of chicken, haha.
As a note, the kimchi served with it was slightly sweet!
Buckwheat Health Dumplings
Review: Dumplings filled with a pleasant buckwheat aroma instead of overwhelming flour scent.
I typically don't enjoy thick dumpling skins, so I ordered the Buckwheat Health Dumplings without high expectations.
However, since the skin is made of buckwheat, it had a lovely aroma that suited my taste perfectly!
Also, I loved the menu description of 'Less Tiring Low Blood Sugar Buckwheat Dumplings,' which was quite amusing, haha!
Other Notes (◍•ᴗ•◍)
I found the giant outside the restaurant very funny and charming!
The menu descriptions were simple yet creatively written, which left a good impression on me, haha.
Lastly, the tables were arranged in a way that allows for a cozy dining experience, making it great for solo diners.
I plan to return to try the Woongbimyeon and grilled chicken next time! I highly recommend Woongkal for grilled chicken and kalguksu!
