Insights on Chinese New Year and Tourism Trends

Honestly, I don't have any memories of making money trading these stocks before the Chinese New Year.
I'm preparing for the upcoming season.
Currently, I'm focusing on the main sectors.
There might be a brief rotation in February. The inbound market seems to be neglected.
If you visit Myeongdong, there are indeed a lot of foreigners.
■ Chinese New Year
1) Chinese New Year period: February 15th to February 23rd.
2) It is expected that the number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea during the 9-day Chinese New Year holiday will reach 250,000, which is a 52% increase compared to last year.
3) Due to the recent China-Japan tensions, Korea is expected to be the top destination for Chinese tourists this holiday season, instead of Japan.
■ Chinese Tourist Trends
- Inspire is performing well, benefiting from the opening effects. Lotte Tourism Development has shown good growth this year.
- Recently, the trend among Chinese tourists is to avoid duty-free shops and instead visit Olive Young, Daiso, Myeongdong, Seongsu, and Gangnam for skincare.
■ Inbound Tourism-Related Stocks
- In this sector, we mainly look at beauty and medical services and hotels.
However, the beauty and medical sector has surged rapidly, making it hard to gauge profit margins. I'll keep an eye on it.
- Regarding casinos, Lee Jae-myung pointed out, "Why did you give the lucrative foreign-only casino business rights to private individuals or companies?" There are regulatory risks, and stock prices have been sluggish.
- Global Tax Free's current stock price is attractive, but issues with its governance have led to poor performance. I think we should monitor this further.
- In the cosmetics sector, there is a clear distinction between thematic stocks and well-performing ones.
* After early February, news about Chinese tourists visiting Korea will emerge, so I'll take a look at some charts. I'm planning to follow one or two stocks.
