2025 Self-Nail Diary: K-Pop & Trendy 3D Kitty Designs

Looking back at my nail art journey in 2025, it has been a year of creative experimentation and fan-driven inspiration. From celebrating Seventeen's comeback with character-inspired designs to trying out the latest 'Tanning Kitty' and 'Cheek Nail' trends, my nails have been a canvas for my hobbies and seasonal moods. Each set tells a story of concerts attended and new techniques learned.
In this post, I’ll walk you through my favorite self-nail sets of the year, including the adorable 'Tomato Kitty' 3D art and the extravagant 'Strawberry Milk' nails I wore to the Seoul and Gwangju concerts. Despite some minor setbacks like a small burn and scheduling conflicts, this year was filled with sparkling reflective gels and handmade resin charms that made every effort worthwhile.
K-Pop Inspired: Seventeen Comeback & Gamsyunyang Nails
One of the most memorable sets this year was inspired by Seventeen's comeback. I designed a set based on 'Gamsyunyang,' a popular fan-made doll of Joshua. After asking for permission to use the character's likeness, I created a super adorable set that perfectly captured the idol's charm. It was the perfect way to celebrate the group's return and show my support as a fan.

After a long period of wearing extended nails, I felt the need for a change and switched to shorter lengths. However, I didn't want to sacrifice the cuteness, so I went for a full art look on shorter nails. This transition allowed me to test out new 3D gels, leading to the creation of the 'Tomato Kitty' design, which combined trending aesthetics with my own personal touch.
Trendy Kitty Designs and Concert Prep
Once I healed from a minor burn, I immediately jumped onto the 'Tanning Kitty' trend. This design was incredibly popular among my friends and social media followers. I even planned my next set specifically for the Mini Teen pop-up event, ensuring my nails matched the vibe of the Seventeen-themed venue. It's these little details that make attending fan events even more exciting.

Following the 'Howl' concert, I noticed 'Cheek Nails' were everywhere. I tried a pink version that unintentionally looked like watermelon nails in photos, but I loved them nonetheless! I wore these to the Gwangju concert. For the big Seoul concert, I went all out with extravagant Strawberry Milk nails, featuring handmade resin parts and ribbons that stood out beautifully during the show.
Handmade Charms and Resin Top Loaders
While preparing for the concert season, I didn't stop at just nails. I spent a lot of time and resources making resin top loaders, photo card cases, and even keyrings to match my nail designs. Although the material costs were high, the satisfaction of having a fully coordinated set for the Seventeen (세븐틴) concert was priceless. The black reflective gel set I did near the end of the year was a personal favorite for its stunning sparkle under stage lights.

Reflecting on a Sparkling Year of Self-Nails
My final set of the year featured a full extension with black reflective gel. It was simple yet flashy, providing a sophisticated end to a year of colorful characters. Looking back at the photos, even the low-quality shots of my zebra print nails remind me of how much I enjoy this creative outlet. After a short break with bare nails, I'm already feeling the itch to start my first design for 2026.
