Not just any Mulhoe, but...
Octopus Mulhoe!????
And not just any octopus, but...
Freshly sourced that day, from...
????Mukho Port octopus from the East Coast?????
At this price?!!????
I've been to a restaurant where you can enjoy this!
Already famous as a Mukho 맛집 (delicious restaurant),
It's Mukomuneo1936.
I've had Mulhoe many times, but this was my first time trying Octopus Mulhoe, and also Octopus Bibim Guksu (spicy noodles). Let me tell you how incredibly delicious it was!
The restaurant is conveniently located just across from the Mukho Port Public Parking lot, a 1-minute walk away, making it easy to enjoy your meal.
The parking lot is free and quite spacious, so even on the weekend when I visited, there were plenty of parking spaces!
The restaurant is located on a main street, so it's easy to find.
It's also near popular tourist attractions such as Donghae Dotjaebi-gol Sky Valley and Haerang Observatory, so I had lunch here and went straight to Dotjaebi-gol :)
If you're planning a trip, route efficiency is important, and I highly recommend following the same course as me!
Menu Information
The menu is simple:
Octopus Bibim Guksu (Spicy Noodles)
Octopus Mulhoe (Cold Raw Fish Soup)
Octopus Gukbap (Rice Soup)
Boiled Octopus / Mini Boiled Octopus
They specialize only in octopus dishes.
We ordered the Octopus Mulhoe and Octopus Bibim Guksu. But looking around, many tables also ordered the Octopus Gukbap.
I also love Gukbap, but it was too hot today so I skipped it.
But I plan to revisit around autumn to try the Gukbap.
The meaning behind '1936' in the restaurant's name is the year Mukho Port was opened.
That's almost 90 years ago, so I can't even imagine how deep the history is...
I read about the 7 benefits of East Coast octopus, and it seems like exactly what modern, busy people need.
Interior & Waiting
I visited around 12 PM on a Sunday, during peak lunch hours, but I was able to enter without waiting.
There was no wait, but the restaurant was full, so I couldn't take interior photos ㅠ..
There are only about 5-6 tables inside, so it's a bit small, and it seems like there's usually a wait.
If you want to avoid waiting, it's best to visit early????
Lalla's Choice
Octopus Mulhoe: ₩17,000
Octopus Bibim Guksu: ₩11,000
The Bibim Guksu is on the left, and the Mulhoe is on the right. The noodles in the middle are for the Mulhoe.
Even though the Bibim Guksu is a reasonably priced menu at ₩11,000, it has a generous amount of octopus, making you wonder if the price is real.
With current prices, even regular Bibim Guksu costs over ₩10,000, so the value of this octopus Bibim Guksu is amazing!
It included various vegetables and a generous amount of noodles, topped with chewy octopus.
This isn't one of those unscrupulous places that puts in a tiny bit of octopus and calls it octopus Bibim Guksu.
Here, they pile up large pieces of octopus as a garnish, showing how generous they are... This place absolutely deserves to become more famous.
The taste of the Bibim Guksu isn't too sour or spicy, but just the right amount of seasoning, making it a menu that's enjoyable for everyone!
If you put vegetables, noodles, and octopus in your mouth at once, the chewyness of the octopus and the sour and spicy taste of the noodles are truly delicious.
Even the slight sesame oil scent at the end was perfect!
The Octopus Mulhoe seemed to have twice the amount of octopus as the Bibim Guksu.
Pour in the icy Mulhoe broth to your liking and mix it well.
The seasoning is so classic, it's not an exaggeration to say that anyone would enjoy it.
It's a taste that no one can dislike... There were even so many vegetables that one bowl of Mulhoe was enough to fill you up.
Especially, the best part was definitely the icy Mulhoe broth!
It was incredibly sour and sweet, making it a great Mulhoe place, and I wondered what the secret to the broth was!!!!
The sourness is stronger than the Bibim Guksu sauce!
If you want to enjoy a more distinct sour and spicy flavor, Mulhoe would be more to your liking than Bibim Guksu.
If you're looking for a Mukho Mulhoe 맛집 (delicious restaurant), try this octopus Mulhoe instead of ordinary Mulhoe...
I paid for it myself, and it's truly a great restaurant where the money wasn't wasted.
And that's not all!
After eating some of the raw fish and vegetables, pour in all the remaining broth and mix it with noodles, and now the second round begins ㅎㅎㅎ
The prejudice that Mulhoe isn't filling doesn't hold true here...
Really full!
They even give you a bowl of rice, which is another delicacy that you can't give up.
Everything you can enjoy in Mulhoe can be enjoyed for just ₩17,000 at this Mukho Mulhoe 맛집 (delicious restaurant).
It has a large, free public parking lot within a 1-minute walk, and all the dishes made with fresh octopus from Mukho Port on the East Coast were delicious.
I hope you all try it, and I'll finish today's honest review that I paid for myself.
Thank you for reading :)
