This trip to Jeju Island was a family vacation with my parents, and I had to put a lot of thought into booking accommodations and restaurants.

My parents wanted to have Korean food, and I found a great restaurant near Jeju One World Joy Hotel called Hallasan Galchi, which specializes in Korean cuisine.

The presentation was generous, and the food was clean and satisfying, making for a delightful dining experience.

Location Information

Hallasan Galchi Jeju Airport Branch

Address: 4 Jeongjon 13-gil, Jeju City, Jeju

Operating Hours: Daily from 10 AM to 10 PM (Last order at 9 PM)

The restaurant is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from the airport, making it easy to plan your travel itinerary.

There is ample parking available in front of the restaurant, so parking is hassle-free.

Restaurant Atmosphere

The restaurant near Jeju One World Joy Hotel has a clean and sophisticated interior.

They also have several high chairs available, making it a great choice for families with young children.

The main menu features a variety of dishes, including the Hallasan Set, which requires a minimum of two orders. We ordered the set for four people.

The price was 159,000 KRW for four people, and the meal included Jeju galchi (hairtail fish), black pork tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), and abalone, which was a great value for the price!

Shortly after placing our order, a steaming hot spread was served to us.

The variety of dishes looked even more abundant and appetizing than what was depicted on the menu.

The side dishes included squid jeotgal (salted squid), kimchi, and a wasabi-soy sauce.

The kimchi was particularly refreshing and clean, making it hard to resist.

The side dishes were also available at the self-serve bar for easy refills.

Spicy and Refreshing Galchi Jorim

The galchi jorim (braised hairtail) included not only galchi but also shrimp, abalone, and webfoot octopus, making it feel like a seafood medley.

The spicy broth was enjoyable for me, but it might be a bit salty for seniors or children.

Galchi is known for its many small bones, which can be a hassle to eat. However, the galchi jorim we had was filleted, allowing us to enjoy it whole.

The rice served with the spicy galchi jorim was abalone rice, which had a chewy texture and a rich ocean flavor.

The delicious broth of the galchi jorim was perfect for mixing with the rice.

We also enjoyed a refreshing seaweed soup with dried pollack, which was tender and easy to eat for everyone.

Delicate and Nutty Whole Grilled Galchi

The restaurant grilled large pieces of galchi without cutting them, serving them whole.

This method retained the moisture inside, enhancing the natural flavor of the galchi.

The perfectly grilled galchi was deboned by the staff at our table, allowing us to enjoy the tender meat easily.

The grilled galchi had its unique umami flavor without being overly salty, making it suitable for anyone.

Hallasan Galchi Jeju Airport Branch also offers fresh and nutty sashimi, which was surprisingly delicious without the expected fishy taste.

The lightly torched top added a nice touch without being greasy.

In addition to fresh seafood, there were also meat dishes included in the set.

The black pork tteokgalbi was served alongside butter-grilled abalone, making for a luxurious combination.

The tender and fragrant abalone was delightful, but the thick tteokgalbi was unexpectedly juicy and delicious.

Dombegogi, a type of boiled pork unique to Jeju, was also on the menu. It was moist and tender, making it a great choice for pairing with drinks.

It was delicious on its own, but when combined with the accompanying squid salad, it added a tangy and varied texture.

The fried dish that looked like squid tempura was actually fried galchi, which was soft and savory, perfectly crispy.

The restaurant near Jeju One World Joy Hotel serves authentic Korean food with fresh ingredients.

With a menu that appeals to all ages, it’s a great dining option for families visiting Jeju Island!
