If you're visiting Jeju, you can't miss out on black pork, the island's soul food that never gets old! During my 6-night, 7-day trip, I found myself heading to a barbecue restaurant every other day for this delicacy.

Among the places I tried, one stood out as the best: Nammaene Black Pork in Seogwipo. If you're looking to savor delicious black pork, I highly recommend stopping by!

Our first choice was Nammaene Black Pork, a bustling spot filled with locals. After a disappointing experience at another restaurant, we carefully selected this place, ensuring it was a genuine local favorite rather than a tourist trap.

As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by the sound of Jeju dialects around us. My husband and I exchanged excited glances, knowing we had made the right choice. It's a good sign when locals choose to dine here!

Nammaene Black Pork boasts excellent accessibility, located near the Seogwipo Bus Terminal and the World Cup Stadium. It's also a short 15-minute drive from the Jungmun Tourist Complex, making it an ideal stop during your travels in southern Seogwipo.

The restaurant has its own parking lot, so there's no hassle finding a spot. The spacious parking area is just a minute's walk from the entrance. They operate from 11 AM to 11 PM, with last orders at 10:15 PM, so plan accordingly. There's no break time, making it convenient for diners.

The interior is impressively clean and well-maintained, a rarity in many barbecue spots. There were no lingering odors or smoke; the ventilation and hygiene standards were clearly top-notch, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

The decor is stylish and bright, enhancing the overall dining atmosphere. Outside, the sight of the black pork being aged for 48 hours in a special fridge surely attracts more customers.

After settling in, we browsed the menu on a tablet and decided to order the signature 'Modakchigi' set, which includes a variety of cuts: pork belly, neck, skirt, and jowl. This variety is a treat, especially since most other black pork places only offer pork belly and neck.

For just 65,000 won, we understood why this restaurant is favored by locals. The side dishes arrived quickly, including a spicy dipping sauce, perfectly cooked napa cabbage kimchi, and pickled green onions, all of which complemented the black pork beautifully.

One standout was the seaweed kimchi, which I tried for the first time here. Wrapping a piece of black pork in a sheet of this kimchi created a delightful flavor combination.

The staff expertly grilled our meat, offering tips on how to enjoy it perfectly cooked. Their attentive service made the experience even more enjoyable.

To finish our meal, we ordered a hearty stew, which is essential for any Korean meal. We chose the soybean paste stew, avoiding the spicy one due to our child. The combination of chewy sea snails and rich broth was irresistible!

Skip the overpriced tourist traps and treat yourself to a satisfying meal at Nammaene Black Pork in Seogwipo. They even have special lunch options, making it a great time to visit!
