Exploring Gom Naengmyeon in Namdaemun
서울특별시 중구 남대문시장길 31-5
곰냉면

A busy week led me back to Namdaemun, where market-side eateries never disappoint.
Gom Naengmyeon stood out for its reasonable prices, satisfying side dishes, and a yukhoe menu that completely stole the show.
Between cold naengmyeon and yukhoe dolsot bibimbap, this spot proved to be a place worth revisiting.
A Reliable Stop Near Namdaemun Market
Gom Naengmyeon is easy to find, with a clearly marked entrance.
I had plans to visit the Namdaemun supply market, and this restaurant is conveniently close.
As expected for a market-area eatery, the prices felt reasonable and comforting.
First Impressions and Side Dishes
The side dishes arrived first and were immediately satisfying.
Even the basic banchan were well-seasoned and balanced.
It set a good tone before the main dishes arrived.
Cold Naengmyeon with a Playful Touch
True to its name, the naengmyeon came with a cute bear-shaped sauce.
I ordered the yukhoe naengmyeon, priced at 12,000 won.
The seasoning was already perfectly balanced, so I didn’t add vinegar or mustard.
It leaned slightly sweet, and the fish was served generously.
Yukhoe Dolsot Bibimbap Steals the Spotlight
The yukhoe dolsot bibimbap, priced at 16,000 won, was what I truly came for.
I wondered if the raw beef would cook in the hot stone pot, and it did.
This is absolutely a place to visit specifically for the yukhoe bibimbap.
The sauce was sweet with deep umami, making each bite incredibly satisfying.
A Meal That Lingers in Memory
As I ate, it almost felt like someone else was enjoying the meal for me.
That’s how comforting and complete it felt.
By the end, I was already thinking about when to come back.
