Escape the cold and immerse yourself in the diverse world of art at the Ulsan Museum of Art, a prominent cultural space in Ulsan.
This museum is always filled with joy due to its variety of exhibitions, and this time it was even more special as it featured works by Vincent van Gogh.
The children's exhibition, 'Face Swipe, Heart Talk,' is enjoyable for kids, showcasing the works of video art pioneer Nam June Paik and second-generation video artist Tony Oursler, making the exhibits even richer.

The ticket office is located on the 3rd basement level (parking) and the 1st basement level. Starting December 23, the 3rd basement ticket desk will be closed, and visitors can use the desks on the 2nd and 1st basement levels.
We purchased our tickets on the 3rd basement level and went up to the 1st floor (Exhibition Hall 3) to start with the children's planned exhibition.
The children's planned exhibition 'Face Swipe, Heart Talk' runs from September 25, 2025, to March 8, 2026, featuring over 130 artworks, including paintings and ceramics, that express various human emotions and expressions.
The vibrant colors and cute characters captivated the children, and they enjoyed pondering the feelings and expressions of the characters.
The exhibition utilized various materials and techniques, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, and wood, making it engaging and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
After viewing the exhibition, there is an experiential space where children can express their emotions, making it a perfect indoor destination for families.
XR Lab 'Poetry of Time'
Located on the 1st basement level, the XR Lab showcases immersive media art using the latest digital technologies like virtual and augmented reality. The exhibit 'Poetry of Time' explores the temporality of the Bangudae Petroglyphs through AI, robots, and holograms.
Nam June Paik & Tony Oursler
On the 2nd basement level, Exhibition Hall 2 features works by video art pioneer Nam June Paik and second-generation video artist Tony Oursler. This exhibition explores how technology and media shape our understanding of humanity and the world.
Visitors can view Paik's large installation 'Turtle,' composed of 166 monitors, and Oursler's work 'Lock 2,4,6,' which visualizes human psychology and obsession.
Van Gogh and Contemporary Art: The Shin Hong-kyu Collection
The Van Gogh exhibition at the Ulsan Museum of Art runs from November 27, 2025, to February 8, 2026, in Exhibition Hall 1 on the 2nd basement level. The opportunity to see an authentic Van Gogh piece in Ulsan has attracted many visitors.
In addition to Van Gogh's works, the exhibition features pieces from 54 artists, including François Boucher from the 18th century Rococo period, modern artists, and Korean creators.
This exhibition, curated by Shin Hong-kyu, an international collector and gallerist from Ulsan, presents a comprehensive view of art history from modern to contemporary, making it an excellent indoor destination for families.
