Dokdo Fisheries: Fresh Seafood Delivered Straight from Noryangjin Fish Market

It had been a while since I invited my friends over for a party.
Since no party is complete without fresh sashimi, I looked into Noryangjin fish delivery and decided to try Dokdo Fisheries because they offered same-day delivery!
All my invited friends were so satisfied, so here's my review of Dokdo Fisheries, a sashimi restaurant at Noryangjin Fish Market! Let's go!

First off, the Dokdo Fisheries website has a well-organized menu.
You might think the photos are too good to be true, but from my experience, they aren't. They actually give you even more! (Bonus!)
I was struggling to decide what to order, but they conveniently listed the items and prices, making it easy to choose.
What I liked even more was the gift set option!
They had gift sets for 8 people, as well as abalone/shrimp packaging sets.
They looked perfect for holiday gifts! I think I'll get one for my parents as a Lunar New Year gift next year.

The price range started from ₩45,000 for the smallest set.
They also had sushi options in addition to sashimi, so there was a wide variety to choose from.
Since we have to eat gizzard shad (jeon-eo) in the fall, we chose the medium-sized assorted gizzard shad sashimi and ordered it via quick delivery.
What was great was that you could choose the thickness of the slices and that same-day delivery was available.
It was great that I could receive it right away with a ₩10,000 quick delivery fee from Noryangjin to Yeongdeungpo.
My honest review of Dokdo Fisheries' Gizzard Shad Sashimi Platter from Noryangjin.

I requested quick delivery to coincide with my housewarming party after work, and the delivery driver arrived just as I stepped out of the elevator!
A huge insulated bag arrived, containing the sashimi, white kimchi, wasabi, and chili paste (gochujang).

It was packaged very carefully, but I couldn't resist opening it right away... and I was amazed by the visuals!
Apparently, this is the first patented insulated plate in the seafood industry.
The plate has an ice pack and shredded radish inside, which can keep the sashimi fresh for at least 8 hours.

The amount of sashimi was huge, and it looked incredibly fresh, didn't it?
My friends who came over said it looked delicious, and they were excited because it was their first time eating gizzard shad sashimi from Noryangjin.
Actually, there were so many reviews of Dokdo Fisheries, so I wondered if it was really that good. But after receiving it, I understood why there were so many.

The main dish was gizzard shad sashimi, and 50% of the platter was made up of gizzard shad se-kko-shi (thinly sliced with bones).
That's probably why the visuals were so overwhelming!
The sashimi wasn't just on the surface; when I poked it with my chopsticks, I could grab a deep, generous amount.

Autumn gizzard shad has its own unique flavor and texture.
The thickly sliced gizzard shad was really chewy and savory... It was the best!
It was my first gizzard shad of the year, and while it had a subtle taste, the texture was amazing.

The other 50% of the gizzard shad platter consisted of sea bream (domi), flounder (gwang-eo), sea bass (nong-eo), mullet (sung-eo), and salmon.
Doesn't it look even more delicious up close? ㅠㅠㅠㅠ There was also flounder fin meat, but it disappeared in an instant. ^^

The red sea bream had a firm texture and a subtle flavor that developed as you chewed.
The mullet was firmer than the flounder and had a savory taste.
The sashimi overall didn't have a fishy smell and was clean, so everyone praised it as a great value for the price!

Flounder is a representative of white fish, and it was chewy and light in fat.
And salmon... need I say more? It was incredibly delicious...
Salmon can get greasy and tiring if it's too oily, but this one had a rich flavor that kept me going.

I'm the type of person who enjoys sashimi with chili paste (gochujang) rather than soy sauce.
I mixed wasabi into the chili paste and dipped the sashimi generously... I ate it yesterday, but I want to eat it again.

I put mullet on the white kimchi that was delivered together, and I also tried a combination of radish sprouts + salmon + wasabi...
That day... we clearly said before we started that we'd only drink two bottles of soju each...
But as we ate, we also drank makgeolli (Korean rice wine) and went to buy more soju... It was the perfect dinner item that captivated our taste buds.

Overall: There are so many sashimi restaurants in Noryangjin Fish Market, but this is the first time I've encountered a company that's so easy to order from and has transparent pricing, which made me trust them even more. I always enjoyed eating sashimi by visiting the market, but ordering online and receiving it via same-day quick delivery was less burdensome. I would've been disappointed if it was different from the photos, but I was completely satisfied to see that it was delivered exactly as pictured. I haven't been going out much lately because I haven't been feeling well, but I'll have to order from them whenever I crave sashimi. If you're looking for Noryangjin fish delivery or a great value restaurant, just order from Dokdo Fisheries without hesitation! Highly recommended!
