If you're staying at Shinwa World and find it a bit burdensome to eat out for every meal due to the high prices at most resort restaurants, I have good news! I discovered a great value restaurant specializing in grilled hairtail just a 5-minute drive from Shinwa World in Seogwipo.

Subinari offers a fantastic dining experience with reasonable prices and delicious food. I’ll share my detailed review of this place.

✅ Located 5 km from Shinwa World, Subinari is a grilled hairtail specialty restaurant where a meal for 3-4 people can be enjoyed for around 75,000 to 150,000 KRW. The menu includes braised dishes, grilled fish, stir-fried pork, soup, and a variety of side dishes, ensuring a hearty meal.

✅ Currently, there's a promotion where you can get a 10% discount if you make a reservation through Naver. Just remember that same-day reservations are not accepted, so be sure to book at least a day in advance!

1. Restaurant Information

Finding Subinari was easy. As mentioned, it’s only a 5-minute drive from Shinwa World, and navigating there was straightforward with GPS guiding me directly to the parking lot.

For those staying at Shinwa World, especially families with children or elderly parents, this restaurant serves beautifully presented Korean dishes centered around grilled hairtail, making it an ideal dining spot.

The parking lot is spacious, making it convenient for those who may not be used to driving rental cars. We rented a large SUV and had no trouble parking.

The restaurant operates daily from 10 AM to 8 PM without any days off. However, it can close early if they run out of ingredients, especially on busy days, so it's wise to call ahead if you plan to arrive after 6 PM.

✔ Address: 8, Jungsan-gwanseoro 1615beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju

✔ Operating Hours: Daily from 10 AM to 8 PM

✔ Parking: Free dedicated parking available

✔ Amenities: Reservations and takeout available, high chairs provided

2. Restaurant Atmosphere & Amenities

The interior of Subinari is cozy and comfortable, providing a perfect environment for enjoying your meal. Unlike some noisy places, this restaurant maintains a pleasant ambiance.

It’s spacious enough for families and groups, and private rooms are available for those who prefer a more intimate dining experience.

Hygiene is also top-notch! Tables, floors, and utensils are all kept clean, which is reassuring, especially when dining with children.

3. The Perfect Pair: Braised and Grilled Dishes

While the menu features a variety of individual items, most diners opt for set meals. We decided to order the grilled hairtail and braised mackerel set without hesitation.

This set is appealing because it allows you to enjoy both braised and grilled dishes, along with generous side dishes that could easily stand alone as mains. I left feeling completely satisfied.

The braised mackerel is served on a table burner, already simmered in the kitchen, so you just need to keep it warm on low heat. It’s perfectly seasoned, and the texture is delightful.

The grilled hairtail is impressively large, with a perfect balance of flavor and texture, showcasing the essence of grilled fish. The restaurant even prepares the fish for you, making it easy to enjoy.

4. Well-Presented Side Dishes

The side dishes included stir-fried pork, japchae, seasoned bean sprouts, pickled onions, and kimchi, all made with care and reminiscent of home-cooked meals.

Among them, the stir-fried pork was particularly delightful, with a sweet and clean flavor that my husband even wanted to learn how to make!

5. Summary

Traveling from Shinwa World to Subinari takes only about 5 minutes by car, making it convenient for families with young children or elderly members.

With no break times, the restaurant operates continuously, making it easy to visit without worrying about time constraints. However, it’s advisable to make a reservation for meals after 6 PM.

The spacious restaurant can accommodate large groups without feeling crowded, and the menu offers a wide range of options, from individual dishes to sets that can be customized to your liking.

Subinari prides itself on using only fresh ingredients, ensuring the quality of the food is exceptional. After experiencing their dishes during our family trip to Jeju, I can confidently say it’s a place I would return to without hesitation. If you want to try authentic grilled hairtail, make sure to visit Subinari!
