On a cold day when I craved something rich and spicy, a visit to a nearby food court turned out to be the perfect solution.

At Uchu Jin in the basement of Lotte Department Store Jamsil, our family enjoyed an easy meal where kids and adults could choose different menus without stress.

From comforting tan tan ramen to kid-friendly pork cutlet and crispy shrimp tempura, this spot proved why it’s a reliable choice in Jamsil.

A Convenient Family Meal at Lotte Department Store Jamsil

On a chilly day, I suddenly found myself craving a rich and spicy ramen. With the school break, I was busy preparing meals for my kids, and as a tired mom, I decided a food court visit would make life easier.

We headed to Uchu Jin, located in the basement food court of Lotte Department Store in Jamsil. The kids happily chose pork cutlet, while my husband and I went straight for the spicy hangover ramen.

The first basement food court is always convenient, with plenty of seating and the freedom to order different menus separately, which is why we often come here.

Easy-to-Find Location and Busy Atmosphere

Uchu Jin sits right in front of the escalator, with an odeng shop across from it, so it’s hard to miss.

As a well-known spot, it gets crowded quickly, especially during peak hours. When I visited on a weekday lunch, there were so many orders that they even paused new ones for a while.

If finding a table feels difficult, ordering tempura for takeout is a good option. I have often picked up a few pieces to make dinner easier on busy days.

What We Ordered at Uchu Jin

Tan tan ramen with half-boiled egg and rich broth at Uchu Jin Jamsil

This time, we ordered the basic tan tan men, pork cutlet with the sauce on the side, and added shrimp tempura as an extra.

Despite the heavy crowd, the food came out surprisingly fast. Once it’s ready, the staff brings it directly to your table if you place the buzzer there, and they also take care of cleanup afterward.

Rich but Approachable Tan Tan Ramen

The tan tan men is made with a blend of pork bone and chicken broth, giving it a thick and rich flavor.

We ordered level one spiciness, and it was milder than Shin Ramyeon, making it easy to enjoy even if you’re not great with heat.

The half-boiled egg on top looked beautiful and made the bowl especially comforting on a cold day.

Kid-Friendly Pork Cutlet and Crispy Tempura

The kids loved the pork cutlet and shared it with rice. There is also a spicy version for adults who want more kick.

Since our kids like dipping their cutlet in sauce, we ordered it separately. The cutlet was made with tender domestic loin, which made it easy for them to eat.

The shrimp tempura was crispy and flavorful, and honestly, we wished we had ordered more.

A Reliable Ramen Spot in Jamsil

Uchu Jin is a great ramen spot in Jamsil with good value, suitable for solo dining, family meals, or even quick takeout.

The food court turnover is fast, so even when it feels crowded, the waiting time is shorter than expected.

If you’re looking for a comforting bowl of ramen and easy options for kids, this is a place worth remembering in Jamsil.
