This Gge-guk-ji restaurant in Taean Mohang Port was featured on Heo Young-man's 'Baekban Kihaeng' (Korean Food Travelogue)!
Cheong-eo-ram, located in Taean Mohang Port, is famous for its Taean local dish, Gge-guk-ji, and generous side dishes. It was featured on Heo Young-man's 'Baekban Kihaeng'.
The exterior of the building has an old countryside restaurant feel, and you have to take off your shoes to enter. It can accommodate about 30 people.
What is Gge-guk-ji?
Gge-guk-ji is a traditional local dish from the West Sea region of Chungcheongnam-do. It's a stew made with aged kimchi (kimchi) in soy sauce marinated crab broth.
Think of it as crab stew with aged kimchi. The savory taste of crab and the refreshing taste of kimchi blend together, making it a popular dish for hangovers.
Taean Gge-guk-ji is generally not too spicy and has a mild yet deep flavor.
Today's Order
Gge-guk-ji for 8 people (160,000 won)
8 bowls of rice (8,000 won)

Lunch for 8 people during the trip
Here's Gge-guk-ji for 4 people (80,000 won).
This is the table setting for 4 people. Various side dishes are served along with the soup.
First, the Gge-guk-ji.
The first taste of Gge-guk-ji was 'mild', but it was refreshing and clean to my taste.
The seafood flavor and umami from the crab and the coolness from the cabbage (kimchi) were a very refreshing combination, and the aftertaste was clean without any greasiness.
The real charm of Cheong-eo-ram was in the side dishes.
First of all, the Grilled Okdom (Tilefish) was savory and sweet. It's definitely a 'rice thief' (a dish that makes you want to eat a lot of rice)!
The Soy Sauce Marinated Crab wasn't too salty and had an explosion of umami, so it was very delicious.
I highly recommend wrapping Mentaiko (Pollock Roe) and Gamtae (Seaweed)! The side dishes are crazy good.
Wrapping Mentaiko and Gamtae together, as well as other side dishes such as Stir-fried Anchovies, Seaweed Stems, Stir-fried Fish Cakes, and Seasoned Bean Sprouts...
All the side dishes that come out in a typical Korean restaurant were so delicious.
Even my friend, who usually only eats half a bowl of rice, ate one and a half bowls that day.
Soy Sauce Marinated Crab and Grilled Fish cost an additional 10,000 won for refills, but the other side dishes are free to refill.
