Aewol Black Pig, renowned for its unique cross-aging technique, offers an exceptional dining experience in Jeju City.

From the quality of the meat to the aging know-how and the distinctive presentation,

this restaurant makes you feel like you've made the right choice throughout your meal.

Let me introduce you to a place that completely captured the discerning taste of my picky husband and me!

Ddongtangi is undoubtedly the best black pig we've tasted in Jeju.

1. Ddongtangi: A Tradition Passed Down for Two Generations

Ddongtangi in Aewol is a local specialty restaurant specializing in Jeju Black Pig,

continuing a family business for two generations.

Their management philosophy is to make one customer return 100 times rather than having 100 customers visit once.

This is not just a tourist spot for a quick meal; it’s a place that serves heartfelt, carefully prepared dishes.

The location is perfect for travelers, just a short drive from the coastal road and major attractions in Aewol.

They also have a dedicated parking lot for easy access.

The spacious interior can accommodate groups, and it’s pet-friendly, welcoming families with children.

✔ Address: 17, Buryeongsu-gil, Aewol-eup, Jeju City

✔ Parking: Free dedicated parking available

✔ Operating Hours: Daily from 11 AM to 11 PM (Last order at 10:30 PM)

2. A Warm and Inviting Atmosphere

The exterior is charming, resembling a house from a fairy tale, and the interior radiates warmth.

With a cozy wooden cabin vibe, it feels like you’ve escaped to a serene mountain retreat.

The comfortable and pleasant environment left a great first impression.

You can even catch a glimpse of the ocean from the windows, enhancing the dining experience.

3. Grade A Female Pigs Raised at 750m Above Sea Level

After being seated, we quickly placed our order.

The signature dishes are bulgogi and black pig, and we opted for the black pig!

If it's your first visit, definitely try the black pig.

They only serve grade A female pigs, with a limited production of fewer than 25 per day,

ensuring a quality that stands apart from other restaurants.

The meat undergoes a meticulous dual cross-aging process,

with 12 days of low-temperature wet aging followed by 48 hours of dry aging.

This results in unparalleled tenderness and rich flavor.

4. Abundant Side Dishes & Effortless Enjoyment of Jeju Black Pig

Once our order was placed, the vibrant and colorful side dishes were served,

making the table visually appealing.

Each dish was expertly prepared, especially the soy sauce marinated crab,

which was perfectly seasoned and a great complement to the meal.

The roe was also memorable, enhancing the flavor of the black pig.

The restaurant employs skilled grillers who ensure the meat is grilled to perfection,

allowing you to savor the best flavors without any hassle.

5. A Rich and Savory Sea Soybean Paste Stew

The sea soybean paste stew was as impressive as the black pig,

made with fresh seafood and traditional soybean paste.

It had a hearty and refreshing flavor that complemented the rich meat.

Ddongtangi is confidently my favorite meat restaurant in Jeju!

When visiting Aewol, make sure to stop by for a truly satisfying meal.
