A Visit to the Hearty Bossam House in Gunpo

Gunpo Dangdong Bossam is a favorite spot where I usually order delivery for convenience.
Today, I decided to visit Bossama Bossama in Gunpo to enjoy a meal on-site.
I often search for bossam restaurants in Gunpo since I love it, and on this day, I particularly craved raw bossam. After some consideration, I chose this place. To sum it up, my visit exceeded my expectations.
The interior was spacious and comfortable. There was a menu board at the entrance, providing information about the dishes.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Gunpo Dangdong. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, making it a great spot for a second round after a meal. The exterior was clean and the sign was easy to spot, making it easy to find. Upon entering, I was surprised by the spacious layout and the comfortable distance between tables, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, it felt bright and organized, making it suitable for family outings or corporate gatherings.
At the entrance, desserts and high chairs for children were available.
There was a large menu board at the entrance, and kiosks were prepared at each table for easy ordering.
After taking a seat and looking at the menu, I saw options ranging from basic bossam to raw bossam and various set menus. We ordered the raw bossam, seafood pancake, and rice balls, which are popular items here.
There was a receipt review event, but since I was hungry and ordered a lot, I regrettably couldn't participate. I promised myself to join next time.
Once the side dishes were served, I noticed they included bossam, seasoned vegetables, green onion salad, and pickled radish.
Shortly after, the main dishes arrived, and I was immediately satisfied by the generous portions. The neatly sliced bossam and seasoned raw fish were served alongside ample lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, chili peppers, and dipping sauce.
I first tried the bossam. The warm pork was free of any unpleasant odors and was tender yet firm to chew. The ratio of lean meat to fat was just right, keeping it moist without being overly greasy. The accompanying bossam kimchi was perfectly fermented, enhancing the flavor when eaten with the meat. It was clear why this place is known as a bossam hotspot in Gunpo.
Next, I tasted the raw fish. The seasoning was light and clean, enhancing the natural texture of the fish without overpowering it. It was chewy without any fishy taste, and alternating bites with the bossam made it enjoyable without being heavy. Wrapping a piece of bossam with a bit of raw fish, garlic, and dipping sauce in lettuce created a delightful mix of flavors.
The raw bossam set came with buckwheat noodles, which were refreshing and whetted my appetite.
Since I couldn't skip carbs while eating meat, I ordered a large tuna rice ball, which was quite filling.
To complement the bossam, we ordered a seafood pancake, which was thin and crispy. We cut it like a pizza and enjoyed it immensely.
The soup served as a side was also impressive. It was mild and clean, perfect for refreshing the palate during the meal. It was a cool soybean paste soup with napa cabbage and bean sprouts. I always find it hard to replicate the same taste at home.
Each side dish was neatly presented, and additional dishes could be requested without hesitation, making for a comfortable dining experience. It felt like they paid attention to the finer details.
The portions were generous, enough for two people, and if a larger group visited and ordered set menus, it would be even more plentiful. Considering the current dining prices, the cost seemed reasonable. Overall, the balance of taste, quantity, and atmosphere made it a great place.
We ordered enough for three people, and we had leftovers of the pancake to take home. It was delicious as a late-night snack.
If you're looking for a bossam restaurant in Gunpo, especially if you love raw bossam, this is worth a visit. Next time, I want to try the basic bossam or other menu options. If you're considering a hearty meal in Gunpo Dangdong, enjoying a satisfying meal at Bossama Bossama might be a great choice.
