If you visit Jeju Island, it's hard to leave without trying the famous black pork. However, upon arrival, you might wonder where to go and whether the places you researched are truly the best black pork restaurants. After much deliberation, I decided to visit Geumdongga, a specialized black pork restaurant in Aewol, and I was not disappointed!

The quality of the fresh meat was impressive, and the spacious, clean environment, along with excellent service, made my experience memorable.

Located about 11 km from Jeju Airport, it’s a perfect spot for your first dinner or a grand finale on your last night. It’s also conveniently situated for a stop during your Aewol trip, with various tourist attractions nearby.

Geumdongga offers a unique dining experience with its self-grilling system, allowing you to enjoy your meal comfortably. They only use top-grade Jeju black pork, ensuring a clean taste without any unpleasant odors, thanks to their unique grilling method using oak pellets.

During July, if you make a reservation through Naver, you can enjoy a 10% discount (excluding lunch set menus). Families with children can also receive a special beef fried rice kids' set.

Upon entering Geumdongga, I immediately felt confident in my choice. The restaurant was impeccably clean, and the meat was stored in a special refrigerator to maintain its freshness. The absence of the typical smoky smell found in meat restaurants contributed to a pleasant dining atmosphere.

The view from the restaurant, overlooking the sea and mountains, adds to its charm, making it an ideal spot for family outings, trips with friends, or romantic dinners. The friendliness of the owner and staff further enhanced the experience.

After being seated, I ordered the signature 600g assorted platter (64,000 KRW), which included both pork neck and belly. Each cut had its distinct appeal, providing a delightful tasting experience. The pork neck was tender and juicy, while the belly was chewy and satisfying. The meat was grilled to perfection on a specially designed grill with oak pellets, enhancing its flavor.

What sets Geumdongga apart is their exceptional service. The staff takes care of everything from temperature checks to cutting and grilling the meat, allowing you to fully enjoy your meal without interruptions.

The first bite was a revelation; the juicy explosion of flavor was unforgettable. I tried it plain at first, then dipped it in a special sauce, and it was a match made in heaven. The combination of the rich flavors from the black pork and the side dishes, like the seafood soybean paste stew and egg custard, was simply outstanding.

In summary, if you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Jeju, Geumdongga offers exceptional quality meat and service that justifies the time and cost. You will not regret tasting the melt-in-your-mouth black pork here.
