Recently, I met up with friends in Hongdae and visited a popular lunch spot in Yeonnam-dong. Hearing that they exclusively use crab from Yeonpyeongdo, my expectations were exceeded. The fresh soy sauce marinated crab and a generous spread of various side dishes made for an enjoyable meal.

1. Exterior and Location of the Restaurant

Exiting from Exit 9 of Hongdae Station, it takes about 5 minutes to walk along the main street to find Odaerijip & Daejanggeum. Thanks to the large sign, it’s easy to spot, even for first-time visitors.

2. Interior and Ambiance

The interior of this Yeonnam-dong restaurant is spacious, with ample space between tables, making it comfortable for dining. The clean atmosphere and soft lighting create a pleasant environment, suitable for family gatherings or visits from foreign guests.

Photos of visiting celebrities adorn one wall, enhancing the feeling that this place has been loved for a long time, which only heightened my anticipation before the meal.

The menu is clearly organized, showcasing the set options for soy sauce marinated crab along with prices per person. Compared to other crab specialty restaurants, the prices are reasonable, allowing for easy ordering.

Mixing the soy sauce crab with rice topped with flying fish roe and seaweed was visually appealing and incredibly tasty. The combination of savory and salty flavors made it clear why this dish is often called a "rice thief." Each spoonful was a delightful blend of crab meat, roe, and rice, making it hard to stop eating.

Located near Hongdae Station, Odaerijip & Daejanggeum is a soy sauce marinated crab specialty restaurant that guarantees freshness and flavor, using 100% L-size female crabs from Yeonpyeongdo. The quality of the dishes, including soy sauce shrimp, crab rice, raw beef, and seafood pancakes, was impressive. I can understand why many celebrities and foreign tourists frequent this spot. The prices are reasonable for the quality and generous portions, making it a great value. If you're looking for a lunch spot in Hongdae or want to try authentic soy sauce marinated crab, I highly recommend revisiting this gem.
