A Family Trip to Jeju Island: Dining at Gungseochae
This summer, we took a trip to Jeju Island with our baby and parents.
We enjoyed delicious meals at an ocean-view restaurant and relaxed at a comfortable hotel.
One of the highlights of our trip was dining at Gungseochae, a famous restaurant near Yongduam.
We discovered this place while searching for baby-friendly restaurants, and it exceeded our expectations.

The food we had was incredibly generous for a four-person serving.
Exterior and Parking Information
Parking is available on the first floor of the restaurant.
Although the space is somewhat limited, we managed to find a spot without much hassle.
Since we have a baby, we prefer restaurants with ample parking space, and luckily, there were plenty of spots available.
Interior with Ocean View
Upon entering, the large windows create an overwhelming atmosphere.
During the day, you can enjoy the ocean view, and if you visit in the evening, the sunset view is equally stunning.
They also provide high chairs for babies, making our dining experience comfortable.
The staff were friendly and even showed affection towards our baby, which we really appreciated.
Menu Information
The menu at Gungseochae is set-based.
We ordered the Stone Octopus Set (159,000 KRW), which is known for its generous portions, and our parents were quite excited.
There’s also a self-service bar inside where you can take additional side dishes.
The variety of food was neatly presented, and we could take as much as we wanted, allowing us to savor everything.
The flavors were clean and reminiscent of homemade dishes.
Especially the corn was a hit with our child.
The kimchi was crunchy and refreshing, pairing well with any side dish.
The quail eggs were delicious and enjoyed by our child as well.
The main dish, the Stone Octopus and Hairtail Stew, was visually impressive.
Using local ingredients, it was bursting with umami flavor.
The octopus was tender and not chewy, which was a pleasant surprise.
The hairtail was also fresh and melted in the mouth, with the seasoning perfectly absorbed.
The grilled abalone had a chewy texture and was well-received by our parents.
The sweet and sour marinated squid made for a great side dish or drinking snack.
The grilled hairtail was firm yet not fishy, maximizing the savory flavor.
Additionally, they served rice cooked with hairtail, which was packed with flavor.
The rice was fluffy, and the soft hairtail paired nicely with the refreshing soup.
The raw abalone had a different charm, with a pleasant texture and no fishy taste.
Finally, the Dombegogi was tender and clean, leaving no leftovers on our plates.
We had a wonderful time at Gungseochae, a renowned restaurant in Jeju.
If you want to enjoy a meal with an ocean view and your family, I highly recommend visiting!
