Gochang Sangdong Beer Festival 2026
The grand Sangdong Beer Festival will take place from August 7 to August 8, 2026, starting at 18:00 on the 7th with an opening ceremony. I visited the exciting venue during the festival.

I tried a game where you control a drone to win beer coupons, rice, and a 100,000 won gift certificate. It was the hardest game I’ve ever played!
Find a can hidden in icy water within 10 seconds. If it gets too hot while enjoying the festival, you can come back and cool off by dipping your hands in the icy water.
There’s a skill-based game of putting a ping pong ball into a cup of water on a table.
Another game involves knocking down beer cans with a water gun within 20 seconds.
In the lucky coin toss game, you try to drop a coin into a soju glass in a water tank, which turned out to be trickier than expected, resulting in a few water balloon splashes!
There’s also a game where you press the stop switch at the right moment to hit 777, 7 seconds, or 77. Someone stopped at 7.70, and everyone was disappointed.
At 7 PM, the chairperson of the Gochang-eup Residents’ Council, Kim Deok-seon, announced the festival's start.
With a drone show by the national drone team, everyone enjoyed a cool drink as fireworks lit up the sky, marking the grand opening of the Sangdong Beer Festival.
Seeing the drone show up close was truly amazing!
With a speech from County Mayor Lee Hong-ki, the drone delivered beer to the residents’ council chairperson, the fire chief, and a representative of the citizens, followed by cheers from the crowd.
As the event kicked off, there was a dance performance by middle school students, who received cheers and applause for their inspiring energy.
The host's witty remarks filled the atmosphere with laughter.
Before the main performance, an exciting dance competition was held, but we could only capture the lively moments in photos!
