Recently, I took a day trip to Jangheung Valley with friends, enjoying a private room where we savored healthy meals while dipping our feet in the cool stream. The food was delicious, and it was a perfect getaway for friends and family.
The atmosphere was unexpectedly delightful, allowing us to truly experience the charm of the 4050 vibe. The outdoor area was filled with romance, and simply soaking our feet in the cool water relieved all our stress. It was a reminder of how refreshing it is to get out and enjoy nature.
One cannot visit Jangheung Valley without trying the famous baeksuk (a type of chicken soup). We indulged in a flavorful mushroom baeksuk, which was not only nutritious but also a wonderful sharing experience with friends.
The beautiful garden and private rooms added to the charm, making it an ideal spot to relax.
Location:

Shin Teolmae is conveniently located about an hour's drive from Seoul, making it a great destination for weekends or holidays. Nestled deep in the valley, the natural scenery is stunning.
Parking:
There is ample parking available near the restaurant, and staff are on hand to assist, making it easy to park even on weekends.
Outdoor Area:
Next to the main building, there are spacious outdoor areas where you can enjoy meals while also engaging in water activities. On weekends, it's a popular spot for families with children, allowing you to fully appreciate the valley's ambiance.
The outdoor terrace is also a lovely place to enjoy the sounds of the stream while dining, especially as the weather cools down.
Main Building with Private Rooms:
The main building features charming, vintage-style decor that caught my eye. We were seated in a private room that was clean and comfortable, equipped with air conditioning, making for a pleasant dining experience. It was perfect for enjoying a cozy meal with friends.
For larger gatherings, the second floor offers ample seating, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Set Menu Options:
If you're unsure what to order, I recommend the set menus. We chose Set A, which includes mushroom nurungji baeksuk, kimchi pancakes, and acorn jelly.
The mushroom baeksuk was rich and flavorful, and the kimchi pancakes, with added squid, were delightful to share. The acorn jelly was simply perfect, reminiscent of makgeolli (Korean rice wine).
After our hearty meal, we headed to the outdoor area for some fun in the stream. It was a quiet day, allowing us to relax and enjoy the moment. I even learned that this place was featured by a popular YouTuber.
The outdoor seating has no extra charge, and the prices are reasonable compared to other places in the area. Pets are welcome, but it's advisable to check in advance if you have a large dog.
Soaking my feet in the cool stream felt incredibly refreshing, washing away all the stress. I plan to return with my family next time, as I know they would love this atmosphere.
We bought some cool drinks from the shop and enjoyed the moment, creating wonderful memories filled with laughter and fun.
Tips for Your Visit:
To make the most of your trip to Jangheung Valley, consider bringing a towel or extra clothes for water activities. The main building's private rooms are perfect for dining, while the outdoor areas are ideal for enjoying the valley's charm. Don’t forget to grab a drink from the shop after your meal and dip your feet in the water!
