During my trip to Jeju, I stumbled upon some amazing places I want to share.
If you're looking for a great restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), there's one spot that everyone seems to visit at least once.
It's called Geumdot, a Korean BBQ place with an amazing location, offering a panoramic view of the village while you dine.
It's a popular spot, well-known not only among tourists but also among locals, so I had to check it out of curiosity.

Geumdot was easy to find, located in a prominent spot near Seongsan Ilchulbong.
It faces a wide road with Seongsan Ilchulbong as a backdrop, and the sign is clearly visible, so I could walk right in as soon as I got out of the car. I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived.
The exterior was eye-catching and impressive.
The reason why it's called a must-visit restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak was evident even from the outside. The spacious yard and clean exterior walls made a great first impression.
The self-service bar was clearly well-maintained, and it was always fully stocked to ensure that no ingredients were lacking.
The dishes and utensils were neatly arranged, giving a hygienic and pleasant impression even before I started eating. You could feel the staff's attention to detail.
The interior was stable with neatly arranged tables and comfortable chairs.
Overall, the atmosphere was neat and cozy. It was easy to see why this place is so consistently popular, just by looking at the space. Everything felt harmoniously well-organized.
As I sat down, I noticed a guide on the wall with tips on how to best enjoy the meat.
This small but thoughtful touch made me even more excited for the meal, and I felt that this kind of detail is what makes customers feel satisfied.
The menu had a variety of side dishes as well as meat options.
In particular, the meat had a consistent texture and smooth marbling.
It wasn't just about the joy of grilling it, but also about savoring each piece with your senses. The freshness and texture of the meat were definitely distinctive.
Several side dishes and the main course were neatly arranged on the table.
The composition looked excellent at a glance, and it seemed to capture the essence of Jeju. The authenticity and careful harmony of the food, which you can only experience here, stood out.

It was pickled just right to be eaten with the meat, and a subtle umami flavor spread in my mouth. It was very effective at stimulating my appetite.
The salted 명란젓 (myeongranjeot, pollock roe) had a deep sea scent even within its saltiness.
It surprisingly went well with the meat. Its unique savory flavor gently balanced out the nuttiness of the black pork, creating a good harmony.
The more I savored the salted pollock roe, the more savory and rich it tasted.
It was a delicate combination, and the savory flavor of the salted seafood went well with the savory meat, making my mouth happy.
The scallion salad was seasoned with soy sauce, but it wasn't too salty and blended in smoothly.
It tasted even better with a piece of meat, and the overall harmony was perfect. The flavor was appealing, not too strong and not bland.
The steamed egg was a welcome addition between bites of meat.
I think the reason why this place is called a great restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong is thanks to such thoughtful details. It balanced the flavors naturally without overwhelming the taste of the meat.
The staff grilled the meat for us, and their grilling speed and timing were excellent.
They carefully flipped each piece and adjusted the doneness. Thanks to them, I could focus on the taste and felt comfortable throughout the meal.

The staff recommended topping the meat with salted pollock roe.
When I tried it, the flavor was maximized when paired with the lean part of the meat. It was an unexpected combination, but I was very satisfied.
The Geumdot 열무국수 (yeolmu guksu, young radish kimchi noodle soup) had a clear and clean broth.
The noodles were chewy and soft, making them perfect as a dessert or to finish the meal. I could taste quality until the very end of the meal.
The 김치찌개 (kimchi jjigae, kimchi stew) looked simple but had a deep savory flavor.
The basic menu item was also well-made. Each spoonful of the rich broth was impressive.
There were also plenty of ingredients in the stew, so I could enjoy it like a side dish.

Even though I was full, I kept reaching for it. Overall, cleanliness, moderation, and comfort were the main things I experienced during this meal. I felt that it was more than worthy of being called a great restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong.
The quality of the meat was excellent, and the attentive service of the staff made it a pleasant dining experience. I think I will remember it as a place I would definitely want to visit again on my next trip.

I visited Gasiabang Noodles to enjoy Gogi Guksu (pork noodle soup), a must-try dish on Jeju Island.
The rich and savory broth was irresistible, and the generous portion of noodles was topped with plenty of dombe meat (boiled pork belly).
The moment I took a bite, a deep flavor filled my mouth, and the chewy texture of the noodles and the tenderness of the meat created a perfect harmony.
2. Pizza Gupneun Dol Hareubang

I also visited Pizza Gupneun Dol Hareubang, which is frequented by locals.
The first bite released a stringy cheese and a savory aroma, and the crispy texture and the combination of ingredients were excellent. This pizza has a universally appealing taste that anyone can enjoy, making it a perfect place to enjoy pizza and beer during your trip.
3. Kind Witch Gimbap

On a day when I didn't have breakfast prepared at my accommodation, I had a quick breakfast at Kind Witch Gimbap.
One roll of gimbap, packed with fillings, made me feel good from the morning, and the generous bite with a variety of ingredients kept me full all morning. The balance of the gimbap was great, and the savory flavor spread subtly with each bite.
4. Bujeon Restaurant
Sea Urchin Seaweed Soup: ₩13,000

Hours: 07:00 - 19:00
I visited Bujeon Restaurant because I wanted a clear and refreshing broth. It was located on a quiet street near Dongamsa Temple.
The earthenware pot was filled with plenty of sea urchin, which gave it a strong sea aroma, and I felt healthy with one spoonful of the rich broth. The subtle seaweed scent and the savory broth blended together to create a comforting bowl.
