Recently, I went on a trip with a friend and discovered a restaurant at Ganggu Port where we could enjoy a full-course meal featuring Yeongdeok's famous snow crab.
From the fresh snow crab to grilled crab legs with cheese, salmon belly steak, and icy abalone sashimi, each dish at Yeongdeok Ganggu Port Crab Paradise left a lasting impression.
Located right in the heart of Ganggu Port's crab street, the restaurant was easily accessible. If you're visiting Yeongdeok, you'll naturally pass by this spot without much trouble.
There was plenty of parking available, including a free parking lot in front of the restaurant, an indoor parking area, and additional spaces beside the building. They even offered pickup and valet services, so you don't have to worry about bringing your car.
Upon entering, the open ocean view immediately caught my eye. The seating arrangement allowed us to enjoy our meal while gazing at the sea, adding to the special atmosphere.
At the entrance, we could see and choose the snow crabs ourselves. Being able to select the size and type increased our confidence in the freshness of the meal.
The menu featured a variety of options, including snow crab, red crab, and king crab. That day, we chose three snow crabs and were pleasantly surprised with two red crabs as a complimentary gift. We indulged in a full course that included grilled crab legs with cheese, crab sashimi, salmon belly steak, icy abalone sashimi, fish tempura, and scallops with cheese.
When the entire meal was served, the visual presentation was overwhelming, and we were delighted even before tasting the food. I didn't expect the quality of the full course to be so high, and the generous side dishes set a positive tone from the start.
The steamed snow crab and red crab were the highlight of the meal. The snow crab was packed with meat, and each bite was a delightful experience. The red crab was also fresh and sweet, making it hard to resist.
The tender crab meat was a testament to the restaurant's expertise in serving crabs. Being able to enjoy such fresh crabs in abundance made our trip to Yeongdeok worthwhile.
The crab roe was chewy and moist, releasing a rich flavor with each bite. Eating it with seaweed, garlic, and other accompaniments enhanced its savory taste without any fishy flavor.
The marinated crab in soy sauce had a perfect balance of salty and sweet flavors, with the tender crab meat disappearing quickly over rice, making it a true rice thief.
The crab shell rice combined the rich crab innards with rice, creating a deep umami flavor that lingered in every bite. The aroma of the snow crab infused each grain of rice, making it hard to stop until the last spoonful.
The crab leg sashimi was chewy and sweet, melting in the mouth with a clean and nutty flavor, showcasing its freshness.
The crispy fish tempura was also part of the full course, making it a hit with families, especially kids.
The scallops were generously topped with cheese and baked to a golden brown. The combination of savory scallops and cheese was irresistible.
The grilled crab legs with cheese featured melted cheese atop the crab legs, perfectly complementing the sweet crab meat and confirming that we had found a great lunch spot.
Throughout the meal, the side dish of pickled vegetables helped cleanse our palates. It was simple yet addictive.
The salmon belly steak, made from the most tender and flavorful part of the salmon, was a hidden gem of the full course, served thick and juicy.
The refreshing icy abalone sashimi added to the satisfaction of the full course. Enjoying this meal with an ocean view created a truly special experience.
It was amazing to see that all these dishes were part of the full course. Purchasing snow crab came with such a variety of seafood dishes, making it an excellent value for money.
I highly recommend Yeongdeok Ganggu Port Crab Paradise for an unforgettable and delicious dining experience.
