If you're tired of the same old dishes during your trips to Jeju Island,

you might want to try something different. I found a well-known restaurant among locals,

Hwanggeum Dongga, famous for its LA Galbi, located near Jeju Airport.

The sweet and savory marinated ribs melted in my mouth,

and I couldn't help but shout 'Eureka!' While black pork, sashimi, and cutlassfish are great,

I recommend enjoying a meal here at least once during your stay. You won't regret it!

1. Hwanggeum Dongga Restaurant Information

Located about a 10-minute drive from the airport in Yeondong, Jeju City,

Hwanggeum Dongga offers a dedicated parking area. If that fills up,

you can find nearby parking spots. I arrived right after the break time,

so I easily found a spot to park.

Note that the break time is from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM,

and the restaurant gets crowded during peak dinner hours,

so it's best to visit early, ideally between 5 PM and 6 PM.

✔ Address: 4, Gukgiro 2-gil, Jeju City

✔ Parking: Available

✔ Operating Hours: 11 AM - 10 PM

14:30 - 16:30 B/T (Closed on Sundays)

2. Restaurant Interior

Upon entering, I noticed a spacious hall

with a small kids' room on one side,

making it a perfect dining spot for families.

The decor was charming and kid-friendly.

The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming,

with a strong focus on hygiene.

They also provided various conveniences for guests,

like aprons, chargers, and high chairs.

3. Menu and Delicious Side Dishes

After reviewing the menu, I ordered two servings of LA Galbi.

In addition to the ribs, they offer a variety of options,

including black pork belly, white pork belly, neck meat,

Jeju-style marinated ribs, special cuts, lunch specials,

and kimchi stew. There are plenty of choices!

Shortly after ordering, a selection of side dishes was served.

The variety was impressive, with all the essentials for enjoying meat,

including fresh vegetables, kimchi, and various appetizers.

The highlight was the sundae, offered as an appetizer,

which was quite a surprise for a meat restaurant.

4. Melt-in-your-mouth LA Galbi

The LA Galbi came in four large pieces,

thicker and larger than I expected,

so I knew I wouldn't need to order more.

Once grilled, they turned a beautiful golden color.

The sweet and salty marinade burst with flavor,

and the texture was incredibly tender.

I savored the pure taste of the ribs before trying them with

various sauces and wraps.

5. Special Doenjang Jjigae

A meal isn't complete without soup, right?

Hwanggeum Dongga offers kimchi jjigae or doenjang jjigae

as a complimentary dish with grilled orders.

We chose doenjang jjigae, which was rich and flavorful,

with generous pieces of galbi enhancing its depth.

With excellent accessibility, dedicated parking,

reasonable prices, and unique menu items,

Hwanggeum Dongga truly exemplifies

a must-visit restaurant near Jeju Airport.

If you're looking for a unique culinary experience,

make sure to check this place out!
