A Culinary Adventure Near Magok Seoul Botanical Garden

This weekend, I decided to go out with my family and have lunch together.
When the temperature fluctuates greatly, it's best to have a nourishing meal. I found a restaurant near Magok Seoul Botanical Garden that serves eel.
So, we visited on the weekend, and I’m excited to share my honest review.
1. Location and Parking Information
If you're coming on foot, exit at Magokyeon Station, exit 3, and walk for about 6 minutes to reach the restaurant.
Since we drove, our navigation guided us quickly to the underground parking.
The restaurant is called "Jangsimdo Black" and is located at 55 Magok-dong-ro, 2nd floor, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It operates from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last order at 9:00 PM.
When you stand in front of the Marcus Building, you can spot the restaurant’s banner and an advertisement for their special eel dishes.
Once you turn around, there’s a large sign that makes it easy to find the place. We confirmed our location and hurried to the 2nd floor.
Upon exiting the elevator, you can see the owner’s attention to detail, making the way to the restaurant easy to follow.
2. Waiting Area
The restaurant has several waiting areas for guests, making it comfortable to wait during busy hours.
3. Interior
As soon as you enter, you’ll see signatures from celebrities, including Kim Poong, who is popular on cooking shows. This adds to the anticipation of dining here.
Another plus for family dining is the cozy rooms available for private gatherings. If you reserve in advance, you can enjoy a spacious and pleasant room.
They also provide sturdy high chairs for children, which I found reassuring.
On this day, thanks to our reservation, we were able to dine in a private space.
4. Menu and Pricing
You can place your order using the kiosk on the table, where you can check the appearance and prices of the dishes thoroughly.
5. Healthy and Diverse Side Dishes
After ordering, they served us a refreshing herbal tea, which was pleasantly different from regular water.
Along with water, they also provided omega supplements for those eating eel, free of charge.
After checking out the side dishes, I was pleased to see a variety of options, including chives and garlic.
6. Grilled Eel Special
Before long, the pre-grilled eel arrived, perfectly cooked without being burnt. The pieces were cut into bite-sized portions, and I couldn’t help but drool at the sight of the tender flesh.
7. Enjoying Eel to Your Taste
The grilled eel was incredibly soft and flavorful. You can enhance the taste by adding various sauces and side dishes. I particularly enjoyed the salt and wasabi combination.
8. King’s Eel Soup
After savoring the grilled eel, I also tried the eel soup, which was thick and rich in flavor. The bones were tender, and it melted in my mouth.
9. Final Thoughts
As someone who loves eel, I can say that this restaurant near Magok Seoul Botanical Garden is one of the most memorable places I’ve visited. The quality of both the side dishes and the main course was excellent, making it a great spot for nourishing and delicious meals.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting Jangsimdo Black!
