Discovering a Hidden Gem: A Visit to Choi's House of Meat in Incheon

In the past, I rarely visited Sunhak-dong, but after moving to the Yeonsu-gu area of Incheon, I found myself frequently wandering around near Sunhak Station. Especially in the food alley, there are surprisingly many delicious restaurants, and I naturally started exploring various places.
Among them, I have recently been visiting meat restaurants in Sunhak-dong, and today I want to share my experience at one of my favorite spots that I've returned to multiple times.
Choi's House of Meat
Address: 42, Haknarae-ro 6beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon
Operating Hours: Daily from 09:00 to 23:00 (Last order at 22:30, Break time from 15:00 to 17:00)
Parking: Up to 5 cars can park in front of the restaurant, and there is relatively ample space in the alley, which is good to know before your visit.
Interestingly, I didn’t initially go there specifically for the meat. I was just having a light drink with a friend, and the next day, feeling a bit off, I wandered around the Sunhak Station area and stumbled upon this place. After my first meal, I thought, “I need to come back here,” and now I’ve been a repeat customer several times.
From the outside, it looks like a typical neighborhood restaurant, so I didn’t have high expectations. However, once inside, I found that the spacing between tables was generous, and the interior was surprisingly clean. Even during peak hours, it wasn’t cramped, making it comfortable to sit and eat.
There is also a designated space for hanging coats, so you don’t have to leave them on the chairs, which adds to the overall comfort of the experience.
Looking at the menu, I decided to order pork belly, thinking it would pair well with the side dishes. I was curious if this place deserved the title of a meat restaurant in Sunhak-dong, and I wanted to make sure I enjoyed it properly.
The initial side dishes were quite impressive. Instead of just a few types of kimchi, there were various sides that complemented the meat well, creating a pleasant atmosphere right from the start.
After trying the kimchi, I found it to be very tasty. Personally, I can gauge a restaurant's quality just by its kimchi, and this place had already passed that initial test.
When the pork belly arrived, I started grilling it. The thickness of the meat was just right, and it didn’t splatter excessively while cooking, making it easy to eat. The option to grill it to my liking was also a nice touch.
After tasting a piece, I found it to be a light and enjoyable style rather than an overwhelming burst of juiciness. This made it less burdensome to eat, and I found myself reaching for more.
During my meal, I also placed an additional order, and the refills came out quickly, keeping the flow uninterrupted. The quality of the meat remained consistent, so I didn’t experience any discomfort while eating.
As I enjoyed my meal, I felt the fatigue from the previous day easing away. Eating meat definitely has a revitalizing effect, and that day, I felt my overall condition improving.
The combination of the meat with the side dishes was surprisingly well-matched. There were sides that balanced out the richness of the meat, and they weren’t overly stimulating, allowing me to enjoy my meal comfortably until the end.
By the time I finished my meal, I felt pleasantly full without any heaviness, which was quite satisfying.
In conclusion, I believe Choi's House of Meat is worth a visit for anyone looking for a meat restaurant in Sunhak-dong, Incheon. It’s not overly special, but it’s a place you can visit comfortably and frequently, which is more appealing.
Overall, the spaciousness and layout of the restaurant provided comfort, the quality and taste of the meat were above average, and the speed of refills was quick. With this kind of experience, I would definitely return. I have already visited multiple times, and I will likely stop by again whenever I'm near Sunhak Station.
