Recently, I've been feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought it was time to take care of myself.

When that happens, nothing beats a warm soup.

So, my husband and I decided to go out for some seolleongtang (beef bone soup).

I had never actually tried seolleongtang in this area before.

While we were at Gwanggyo Lake Park, I remembered the newly opened Shindan Seolleongtang Gwanggyo branch.

It's known as a popular Korean restaurant in Suwon, so I thought we should give it a try.

The location is near the lake, in the second floor of the Hillstate Gwanggyo apartment complex.

There is ample parking space, and the timing is generous, making it perfect for a post-meal café visit or a stroll.

This route is also great for a date at Gwanggyo Lake Park.

Shindan Seolleongtang is said to have been featured on television, which raised my expectations.

They use broth that has been simmered for a whopping 24 hours in a cauldron, and it's known for being rich yet clean without any off-flavors.

With 30 years of expertise behind their broth, I couldn't help but be curious.

Upon entering, I found the restaurant spacious and tidy.

They even have high chairs for babies, so I thought I should definitely come back with my daughter, who loves bone soup.

What I liked the most was that they offer unlimited rice and noodles.

This is a huge advantage, making my next visit almost certain.

The kimchi, which is essential in a seolleongtang restaurant, was also satisfying.

They served both fresh kimchi and diced radish kimchi, and I was pleasantly surprised to find sweet rice drink (sikhye) as well.

Having a cup of sikhye after a meal is just wonderful.

The kimchi is served as a basic side, and if you want more, you can help yourself at the self-serve bar.

Personally, I loved the fresh kimchi so much that I refilled it twice.

The chopped green onions served with the seolleongtang were incredibly fresh.

Both my husband and I ordered the seolleongtang.

It came bubbling hot in a stone pot, and just looking at it made my mouth water.

There was more meat than I expected, and it was tender and well-cooked without any off-flavors, making it overall very satisfying.

The noodles were also quite generous, so unless you're a big eater, you probably won’t need to order extra.

The most important part, the broth, was the first thing I tasted.

As soon as I took a spoonful, I thought, 'Ah, this is the taste.'

The broth was deep and rich without any heaviness, likely due to the thorough removal of impurities and long simmering.

I added plenty of green onions and just a pinch of pepper and salt.

It had been a long time since I had seolleongtang, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Eating it with the fresh kimchi was a fantastic combination, and adding meat made it even better.

After finishing most of the solid ingredients, I didn't want to waste the broth, so I adjusted the angle of the pot and cleaned it out completely with my husband.

After devouring a bowl, I felt truly satisfied and warm inside.

My husband also said he hadn't had such good seolleongtang in a while and was very pleased.

The prices are reasonable, and with unlimited rice and noodles and convenient parking, it's perfect for a family outing.

Especially since it's a great place to bring kids, I'm already planning to come back with my daughter next time.

Shindan Seolleongtang Gwanggyo offers a variety of dishes like seolleongtang, galbitang (beef rib soup), and dogani-tang (tendon soup), so I think I'll try something different on my next visit.

It's a great spot to enjoy a hearty meal when visiting Gwanggyo Lake Park, so I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
