Excitement Builds for MMA 2025: First Lineup Announcement!

K-POP is really hot these days, isn't it? The first lineup announced for the Melon Music Awards (MMA2025) has really raised expectations. This event, taking place on December 20th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul(고척스카이돔),
is a platform to showcase the achievements of K-POP artists to the world.
This year's lineup includes IVE,
PLAVE,
BOYNEXTDOOR,
and RIIZE.
First, IVE has established itself as a leading 4th generation girl group.
This year, they topped the Melon monthly chart in February with ‘REBEL HEART,’ proving their popularity once again.
Continuing with hits like ‘ATTITUDE’ and ‘XOXZ,’ the ‘IVE syndrome’ continues.
And they are scheduled to meet global fans through their second world tour, ‘SHOW WHAT I AM,’ so I'm really looking forward to it!
Next up is PLAVE!
This group has achieved remarkable success this year.
Their third mini-album, ‘Caligo Pt.1,’ became the first album to surpass 10 million streams within 24 hours of its release.
The title track ‘Dash’ recorded a whopping 185 million plays and was selected as the most streamed song in the first half of the year on Melon.
PLAVE continues to set new records, and I'm really excited that they will be appearing at MMA2025 again this year!
And we can't leave out BOYNEXTDOOR.
This group is increasing musical perfection by actively participating in every album.
In January of this year, they received a lot of love with ‘Only One I LOVE YOU.’
And their recently released mini-albums ‘No Genre’ and ‘The Action’ are gaining more attention, breaking their own best records on Melon.
As they won the ‘Best Performance Male’ award at MMA2024, I think we can look forward to another intense performance this time.
Lastly, RIIZE is receiving a lot of love for their unique genre of ‘emotional pop.’
Their first full-length album ‘ODYSSEY’ proved their popularity and musicality by ranking 3rd on Melon TOP100 and 1st on HOT100 on the first day of its release.
RIIZE, who achieved remarkable growth by winning 5 awards at MMA2024 last year, I'm so excited to see what kind of performance they will show this year!
As MMA2025 returns to Gocheok Dome after 3 years, I think it will be a good opportunity to further solidify its position as the home of K-POP.
