Hello!

Seosamneung, a World Cultural Heritage embodying the history of the Joseon Dynasty, is a renowned site in Goyang City.

Let me share my walking experience here!

Seosamneung, a Joseon royal tomb, is a significant attraction in Goyang City.

The name Seosamneung means 'three tombs located in the west.'

It is said that the tombs began with the relocation of Queen Jang-gyeong's tomb, the second queen of King Jungjong, from the west in 1537.

Later, the tombs of King Injong and Queen Inseong, as well as King Cheoljong and Queen Cheorin, were established here.

Additionally, Seosamneung contains various other tombs and royal burial sites, including So-gyeongwon, Uiryeongwon, and Hyochangwon.

For your information, the Taesil area (Taesil, prince and princess tombs, concubine tombs, and Hoi-myo) is about 2 km from the Seosamneung ticket office and can only be visited through online reservation.

The entrance to Seosamneung opens at 9 AM, and during the summer months of June to August, visitors are allowed until 5:30 PM.

Please be mindful of the viewing etiquette and restrictions while you explore.

Upon entering, a short walk will lead you to a fork where you'll find a 'Visitor Guidance Sign.' The walking path is approximately 1 km long and takes around 30 minutes, making it a pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll in Goyang City.

I recommend visiting in the order of Huiryeong > Yereung > Uiryeongwon/Hyochangwon.

Huiryeong is the tomb of Queen Jang-gyeong, the second wife of King Jungjong, and is beautifully maintained.

As you walk towards Yereung, the lush trees provide shade, making it comfortable even in the summer heat.

There are also benches available, so you can take your time and relax while exploring.

Yereung is the tomb of King Cheoljong and Queen Cheorin, where you can observe the two mounds behind the pavilion up close.

Lastly, you can visit Uiryeongwon, the tomb of Prince Jangjo, and Hyochangwon, the tomb of Crown Prince Munhyo.

With about an hour to spare, you can enjoy a leisurely walk around the royal tombs.

Adjacent to Seosamneung, the Wondang Ranch is another great spot in Goyang City for a pleasant stroll.

Thank you for joining me on this exploration of Seosamneung!
