Hello!

As the hot and humid weather continues, wouldn't it be wonderful to enjoy cultural activities in a cool indoor space?

The Goyang Aram Nuri Library is hosting '2026 Summer Library Music Camp,' where you can enjoy classical music, opera, and musical performances for free this summer vacation.

I recently visited the library to experience the performances and explore the library.

This program utilizes the library's collection of art performance DVDs to screen a variety of shows, including classical music, opera, and musicals.

Before and after the performances, classical music is played to enhance the experience.

Upon entering the first floor of the library, I noticed promotional materials guiding visitors about the program. The schedule and titles of the performances were clearly displayed, making it easy for first-time visitors to find their way.

'Music Camp' takes place on the third floor in a seminar-style space, which differs from a traditional concert hall or cinema. This space is equipped with a large screen and projector, allowing everyone to sit comfortably and enjoy the performances.

The environment was quiet and pleasant, with good air conditioning, making it easy to forget the heat and focus on the show. The audience appeared relaxed and engaged.

On that day, the featured performance was the comic opera 'L'elisir d'amore' by the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti.

The screening lasted from 1 PM to 3:10 PM, and the time flew by as I immersed myself in the story and music.

'L'elisir d'amore' tells the story of a simple young man, Nemorino, who is in love with the beautiful village girl Adina. He purchases a potion he believes to be a 'love elixir' from a traveling salesman to win her heart, but unexpected situations arise, humorously exploring the meanings of love and sincerity.

What impressed me the most was the opportunity to enjoy high-quality opera for free at the library without having to visit a performance venue. Even those unfamiliar with such performances could easily engage with culture and the arts in a comfortable atmosphere.

After the performance, I naturally headed to the library's resource room. DVDs were available for rental, and I borrowed a children's adaptation of 'L'elisir d'amore' from the children's library.

The ability to enjoy both a performance and reading is a unique charm of the library's cultural programs.

As the summer heat continues, it's a great idea to escape the heat for a day to enjoy classical music and opera while also borrowing a book. This program is recommended for families with children on summer vacation or for individuals wanting to quietly enjoy cultural activities.
