I visited the 19th Gochang Incident Memorial Park Chrysanthemum Exhibition, filled with the fragrance of autumn flowers, the queen of flowers.
Exhibition Dates: October 19, 2026 - November 1, 2026
Exhibition Location: Gochang Incident Memorial Park
As I entered the park, the scent of chrysanthemums tickled my nose, and countless chrysanthemums filled my sight.
Across from the parking lot, there were vendors selling traditional snacks like hotteok, chicken skewers, and freshly popped rice snacks.
Whether it was the chilly weather or the deliciousness of the hotteok, only those who tasted it would know the secret!
In Shinwon-myeon, a food market was also operating, serving delightful beef soup and seafood pancakes.
There was an experience to make traditional egg packages, which included three grilled eggs that you could enjoy one by one while exploring.
The handmade mirror-making experience, using torn Hanji paper, resulted in high-quality, elegant pieces.
There was also a flower keyring-making experience, which perfectly matched the chrysanthemum exhibition.
From 10:30 AM, a tram ran every 30 minutes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Upon entering the park, I was greeted by even more chrysanthemums.
Everywhere I went, there were photo zones with different themes, providing beautiful scenery for memorable photos.
The childhood flower maze had not fully bloomed yet, but it seemed like it would be in full bloom by this weekend.
I passed through the chrysanthemum tunnel into the entrance of the cut flower competition hall.
After visiting the future chrysanthemum garden, I went to the cut flower competition area.
They gave me five stickers to place on my favorite works, and I chose the orange cap, lovely pop, loving you, Venus pink, and mini magic. Among them, the lovely pop stood out for its richness and vibrancy, and the staff even took a memorable photo for me.
After participating in the competition and visiting the historical education center, I had the opportunity to plant chrysanthemums in packages.
This year, I believe a lot of effort went into nurturing the chrysanthemums to prepare for the exhibition earlier than usual.
Thanks to their hard work, visitors could enjoy a wonderful chrysanthemum spectacle and have a happy day.
There were also performances showcasing diverse cultures, and even in the rain, the shared enjoyment reflected a cultural connection.
Although the exhibition ends on November 1, it will still be open for viewing until November 15.
I hope you remember the painful history and take home a cherished memory from the chrysanthemum exhibition filled with the fragrance of chrysanthemums.
