Shinan County Launches AI-Based Integrated Medical and Care Services for Seniors

Shinan County has been selected by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the "2026 Social Service Support Project for Vulnerable Areas."
The county will actively promote AI-based integrated medical and care services for seniors in Jangsan-myeon.
This initiative is designed considering the unique characteristics of island regions where access to medical and welfare services is challenging.
Initially, the program will target 25 seniors aged 65 and older residing in Jangsan-myeon.
The AI care robot, 'Hyo-dol,' will provide companionship, assist with meals, and remind seniors about medication times to help maintain a regular lifestyle.
Additionally, a non-face-to-face medical platform will allow seniors to conveniently receive medical consultations from home.
Prescribed medications will be delivered via courier, reducing the burden of visiting medical institutions.
The robot will also analyze recorded conversations and activity data.
If any abnormalities are detected, the system will notify the administrator, helping to prevent emergencies.
Moreover, tailored nutritional management services will be provided in collaboration with specialized institutions.
Shinan County is committed to ensuring that residents in island areas can access necessary medical and care services, regardless of their location.
We will continue to build a robust welfare system.
Our goal is to help seniors lead healthier and happier lives in their later years.
