Do not burn agricultural by-products; handle them safely!
Sinan County offers free shredding support on-site.
When farming, various agricultural by-products such as tree pruning branches and crop stems naturally accumulate.
It can be challenging to leave them piled up or to dispose of them properly!
To reduce the burden on farmers and prevent wildfires and fine dust, Sinan County operates the 'Safe Disposal Support Program for Agricultural By-products' throughout the year.
This program provides free shredding of agricultural by-products generated during farming operations.
A shredding support team will come directly to the site to assist with shredding.
The shredded by-products can be returned to the farmland, reducing disposal burdens and helping protect the agricultural environment.
Where can you receive support?
The program is currently available in a total of 10 towns and villages, including 2 newly added areas.
Participating areas include:
- Jido-eup
- Aphae-eup
- Jeungdo-myeon
- Imja-myeon
- Ja-eun-myeon
- Bigum-myeon
- Docheo-myeon
- Anjwa-myeon
- Palgeum-myeon
- Amtae-myeon
What types of agricultural by-products are eligible?
By-products generated during the cultivation of various crops are eligible.
Eligible types include:
- Fruit trees: pears, figs, etc.
- Facility horticulture crops: strawberries, tomatoes, etc.
- Open field crops: peppers, sesame, corn, etc.
How to apply:
Villages, agricultural groups, or individual farmers wishing to receive shredding support can apply.
Simply fill out an application form and submit it to the relevant town office.
Once the application is received, the shredding support team will coordinate with the applicant to schedule the work and visit the site to shred the agricultural by-products for free.
For smooth shredding, please prepare in advance!
To ensure that the shredding work proceeds safely and smoothly, there are a few preparations needed:
- Gather agricultural by-products in a convenient location for shredding.
- Separate waste materials such as plastic film and twine from the by-products.
- Ensure that the shredder and work vehicle can safely access the site.
A little preparation will help us perform the work more quickly and safely.
More than half of this year's goal achieved!
Sinan County aims to shred 35 hectares of agricultural by-products this year.
In the first half of the year, 19 hectares have already been shredded, achieving about 54% of the annual goal.
As the second half of the year sees a surge in agricultural by-products, we plan to enhance on-site promotion and shredding support to assist more farmers.
Instead of burning, shred safely!
Illegally burning agricultural by-products can lead to fine dust and the risk of wildfires.
Let’s reduce the burden on farmers while maintaining a clean and safe rural environment. Please use Sinan County's free shredding support.
We look forward to your interest and participation.
