Focused Pest Control Period for Rice in Sinan-gun
Sinan-gun will operate the 'Focused Pest Control Period for Rice' from July 22 to August 20.
Based on recent trends in rice pests reported by the Rural Development Administration and local monitoring results,
farmers are urged to conduct early pest monitoring and timely control measures.

Since early July, Sinan-gun has conducted detailed monitoring of rice cultivation areas,
confirming the presence of pests such as planthoppers and leafhoppers in some regions.
On July 16, monitoring was conducted in collaboration with the Jeonnam Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center.
From July 22 to August 20, this period will be designated as the 'Focused Pest Control Period,'
with plans to intensively promote field technical guidance and timely control measures.
Sinan-gun will invest a total of 160 million won in pest control support projects,
providing control agents for 8,354 hectares of rice cultivation area.
This initiative aims to reduce the economic burden on farmers and prevent the spread of pests.
Early pest control is crucial.
According to the Rural Development Administration,
the brown planthopper was first reported in mid-June, particularly in southern and western coastal areas.
The emergence of the first generation of adult pests is expected to intensify from late July.
Given the weather conditions, pest outbreaks may increase rapidly.
